Airplanes flying overhead?

We just don't have the climate for outdoor malls IMO.

IMO we do. It’s not too hot or too cold. I don’t have a problem with the rain.

And the planes overhead are fun!

Thanks for posting. I'm surprised at some of that pricing. Yaletown looks cheap(!?)

For more context for the whole city, City Hall did a vacancy survey in the spring/summer of 2022. Look at page 4 to see the change in the last year.

It looks like a few more retail spaces are about to become available "Court documents posted to Alvarez & Marsal Canada Inc.’s website say Bed Bath & Beyond Canada is insolvent and cannot restructure its operations without support from its American parent company.

The documents dated Friday say Bed Bath & Beyond Canada has commenced the creditor protection proceedings to allow for a timely wind-down of the business and liquidation of inventory."

It also seems that TWG tea may not be relocating to 929 Robson - new leasing wraps looked to be going up today.

I suspected as much months ago when I called and asked about 'progress' and was assured there was 'No Issue None' and that 'Everything Was Fine'; I could smell the corporate Bee Ess over the phone.

... and it looks like they are closing all Canadian stores.
(Just like Linens 'n Things did)

Bed Bath & Beyond is shutting down all 54 stores across Canada

No surprise and good riddance, prices were crazy, even most of the small kitchen appliances were more expensive than stores like The Bay. BuyBuy Baby goes down with it too.

I only in the last 6 months or so went to one and was surprised by how much they had changed, for the better, they had a lot of useful in-house brands and less stuff than every other store carried. Oh well.

I wonder what kind of stores can take over their spaces.

Michael Kors is going into where the Microsoft store was or that area of Pacific Centre. Coach made the move to that area a few months ago. They are making a return to
Pacific Centre.

Was the TWG store a franchise as it flipped signs from being the Urban Tea Merchant at the old location which had a location at Park Royal for some time.

I don't get how that would pencil with the immense rent that space would commend for a small business operating a franchise.

Ikea has an application in to expand the Richmond location onto the south end of their property (between the current building and the Jacobs Rd off-ramp).

I didn't bother taking a close look at the posted signs which have a render, figured it would be online though it doesn't seem to be.

If they use the entire space the building footprint would end up about the same as Ikea Montreal, the current largest in Canada and 10th largest in the world (according to some quick googling).

Was in Pacific Centre yesterday. American Eagle Outfitters has shuttered their space, lower level across from Canada Line entrance. Hoarding is up and looks like Garage Clothing Co. and Dynamite will take the space. As mentioned by a poster previously, Michael Kors is taking about half the former Massimo Dutti space.

Thanks for getting a picture of the sign, I didn't bother to thinking I could find something online when I saw it.

That should result in a store around the same size as Ikea Montreal, the largest in Canada.
