-4C and blowing snow in Moncton at 9 AM. The temperature is already beginning to fall. It was -2C at 8 AM when I got to work.

-28C overnight tonight, with a windchill of -45 (!). This could be a new record in the city for the date.

Cloudy and -4 at 10am. Snow this afternoon changing to rain, about 5cm total. Extreme cold warning for tomorrow, with afternoon wind chill near -30. Oops.

-30 was forecast here last night but Ottawa and Gatineau both got down to -27.

My backyard home thermometer just missed the target, at -29.

It dropped to -14.3 here this morning. It's currently -11. Yesterday's high was +1.4. with a low of -9.

We might be spared the worst tonight, as the wind is supposed to change direction to the south around midnight and the vortex will continue east. Could still hit around -16 to-18 before the temperature starts to rebound.

well our cool air week is past, hitting +3 today. Didn't even plug my car in this time, temps never went below-20. the week ahead looks like we will hit +7 on Weds. Great I am in Kitimat all next week were it will be raining the whole time I'm there. .

The cold took a bit longer to get to Toronto. We just reached what is likely our daily low at 11 am at -19.4.

Honestly, it's not that bad for extreme cold. The sun is shining brilliantly and the wind is starting to die down. And it's only gunna last for another 24 hours or so. Not gunna complain too much.

I swear it feels like -30 or something with the windchill but it's okay, my weather station says it's around zero.

Left that out there for 10 minutes. Starting to think it wasn't designed to work outside.

Pipes are going to burst in the next few days, with it getting above freezing.

Cotton candy sunrise but horrific squalls most of the day. And, this being St. John’s, barely anything plowed. Took two hills sideways, and had to turn around on another two I couldn’t make it up. Took me 3X as long to get home.

Here in Fredericton it was -3C when I got into the car around 7AM this morning. The wind was picking up a bit as I left for work.

Right now at 4:00PM, Weather Underground says it's -21C. My plan is to basically run to the car from the office and get home ASAP and not go out until Sunday basically. Especially since WU says the temperatures are expected to be COLDER tomorrow.

I think the Maritimes are paying for the 'warm' November/December we had while the Prairies were in the deepfreeze. Thankfully this particular cold snap is only a couple of days long.

We've now hit the transition to rain.

1.6C at my place.

This isn't expected to last long before we plunge after 9 into a deep freeze below -10C. Hopefully the rain can remove the squall snow, or else my car is stuck in an ice block until it thaws

All outdoor Winterlude events have been cancelled. (You know it's cold when your winter festival is cancelled!).
