Why demolished a perfectly sound and efficient building for no good reason? Do you know how much waste that would implied ? We have to lose that reflex to want to demolished buildings just because they don't appeal to our aesthetic taste.

It was only an opinion, I'm not actively seeking it demolition. It just sticks out like a sore thumb and would not have been allowed today.

I see your point though.

Without that courthouse, the skyline would have a very nice and even elegant scaling of each of the various eras of development in Montreal rising gradually from the edge of the river.

No doubt it was a mistake to build that in that location.

The courthouse only have that negative impact from that angle, it's not like it's a continuous wall along all the old city... That elegant scaling is actually existing from every other angles...

Tower's nice. Looks great in the skyline. But that podium looks like an 80s medical building

Wow. That's a massive change from the Kelowna I knew in the early 70s (pop 25K) and later when I lived there in 1994 (pop~ 80K)

Heh heh, I actually like having this as a visual point of interest, even if I wouldn't want to live there. Japan vibes are strong here.

It kind of does doesnt it! This is the back side of the podium, the front is a bit more attractive with multiple Restaurants/patios etc on the street level
