No they are definitely not in favour of allowing and supporting this behaviour, that couldn't be further from the truth. They are in favour of tackling this very complex issue with compassion and dignity and working with experts and invested local partners. We need to give the new council a chance, they are still brand new sheesh! Previous approaches didn't work.

No need for vigilantes. I think most of the people who are living rough lives are harmless. They're just trying to survive. Yeah, some have substance abuse problems, but there are plenty of people with privilege who do too.

Some are real characters. And I've found a smile and a hello goes a long way... just being acknowledged is a big deal for many.

I think we, as a society, should be more ashamed of this than those who have become homeless or are dealing with mental-health and other issues.

No idea how large it is or how long it's been there, though.
Td, RBC and CIBC all have offices at 100 king west or Commerce Place too.

Nope, this drone shot from. September 20th last year shows the house and the autobody shop are gone.

(You'll need to zoom in)

Sorry I'm not sure anymore, I figured since the video was just uploaded there was more demolition that occurred on-site.

All the buildings on the site (there were only two, a house and small mechanics garage) were demolished last year.

For whatever reason, Emblem simply posted a video of the demolitions to their instagram now.

That park has done more damage to my faith in government and municipal planning then anything else in this city. It was like season 8 of game of thrones equivalent of Hamilton projects for me.

So damn easy to get right, literally just some nice trees and a bit of nature in the middle of a concrete jungle, and instead we got more concrete.

I love how evertime that "park" shows up in a thread everyone rips on it over and over lol. I should blur it out for being so offensive.

Yeah come to think of it I never noticed it either... sigh so many new buildings I haven't even been inside yet..

I like how the william thomas skyscraper part is so noticeable as a backdrop from the side but barely visible at all from the front - I still think it was done brilliantly. If the tivoli EVER gets built I hope it's a similar situation.

Looking at that photo made me wonder if Wm. Thomas feels like it will come down when there's a strong wind out of the northeast (or southwest). But it may not be tall enough for that.

Tivoli... the proposal is still at the "miniature world." I think we'll see that site change hands a couple times before something happens. Perhaps it will be combined with redevelopment of that plaza at James and Wilson.

By that time the theatre will have rotted away to an unsalvageable situation - so sad. Sometimes I feel like they are just waiting for that to happen so they can just demolish the whole plot.
