Does anyone know what is going on with The Rise by 1440 Group? Across from the Golf Course over Glenmore Way?
It’s been the slowest moving project! There barely appears to be anyone on it at any give. Time and nothing much has been completed on it.
Was gonna mention this, been passing by it almost everyday on the way to the gym, only changes I’ve seen are a couple windows installed over the last 5 months
The Crane for Water st by the Park has been erected. Got a cool angle of a few cranes and on goings in the downtown core. Crazy to think there’s another about 3 or 4 cranes downtown not in this shot.
By the time you see it on Castanet it's pretty much a done deal. This imho should be at least twice as dense as it's being proposed. We already killed the sky and mountain views from the waterfront. Might as well continue building density while we're here. We need more housing and this being such a big chunk of land really could have been a couple of towers and maybe even more.
Didn't city council shoot down an 8 storey proposal in the same area for being too tall for the area? I think they're adamant everything east of Richter stays below 6 storeys.
The 10 lots in total are 120m wide so it's not terrible. I hope the city considers breaking up the block between Ethel and Richter which is 400 metres apart as the area gets redeveloped. Doesn't have to be a car street, maybe a pedestrian focused pathway.
