I'm actually surprised that this hasn't moved forward and that there hasn't been more development around the Tunney's station

I think Richcrafts next project is the "Charlotte" on Rideau. I bought at the Bowery and have received comms from them on that project. Not sure if they are doing both at the same time?

it could be that charlotte is richcraft's lastest condo development, and that this is their latest rental development (sidenote : I actually can't think of any richcraft rentals....does anybody know if they do?)

None that are 100% rentals. Here at the Bowery they are allowed to keep 60 units or so. Unsure how many they are keeping vs selling but they are allowed to keep that many (about 25%).

I've only ever seen suburban developments, commercial rentals and then Condos. They have a web page under development for the Charlotte site but nothing for this one yet. Maybe they are joining in on the latest rental craze which would explain the lack of marketing around it.

They have a few rentals. For examples the Brownstones near Cyrville Station.

I made my comment based on the fact that the Charlotte getting ready for presales is old news now.

As a matter of clarification the guy said Parkdale is next but that could mean one of two sites as there is another Richcraft site to the north of this one.

So the next project after the Charlotte.

They seem to own most of the block around parkdale now...

"1530 Scott Street & 15 Bullman Street was purchased by Richcraft (Bullman) Ltd. from Christie and Walther Communications Ltd. for $9,750,000 or $250 per square foot. It is currently improved with a one-storey automotive service garage and parking lot."

Richcraft is proposing the demolition of the dwellings at 272 and 274 Parkdale Avenue, and the interim use of the site as a community garden, until the future development of the site.

The proposed community garden, consists of a secured 10x10 storage shed, pollinator garden, accessible pathways, accessible raised garden plots and in-ground garden beds, and a fence along the perimeter.

What is with Richcraft and taking decades to build things? The Charlotte was fenced off when I lived next door in 2002.

Only in Ottawa where there is sufficient community/density/walkability do they propose a community garden that has more onsite parking planned than actual garden.

I agree. Why is there so much parking like this here? You don't need any for this neighbourhood. I can imagine that they wanted asphalt so that when they do decide to go through with the building they can just turn the asphalt section into a sales centre and erect the tower where the garden is.

I'm not too offended by this one. The patch of asphalt is already there, being used by the ghost kitchen. A few parking spots could be useful for deliveries along with bring equipment to the garden. A few derelict buildings being replaced by a community garden, which no doubt will be appreciated.

When are they going to bulldoze those two houses at Scott and Parkdale? I worked at Tunney's in 2017 and they were slated for demolition at that time.

My 13 year old kid noticed that someone has a mobile food truck installed to the south of this place that looks like a semi-permanent restaurant.

Demolition is starting today. Vinyle siding was being removed. A shovel is on site. I talked to one of the workers and asbestos is in the buildings. The worker indicated hazardous material will need to be removed and bagged while wearing hazmat suits. It could be awhile before they tear down the buildings themselves
