I am still wondering where the vents are gonna go lol..

still think the plaques underneath/above would make great vent shafts if you just installed grates over them..

..but yes, looking great so far!

Aren't those juliet doors backwards? Those doors will need to open inwards since they will have metal balcony bars going across them at some point. There will be no room to open outwards and thus no need for outside handles lol. Should only be handles on the inside of the doors for a clean look.

I'm assuming the handles on the outside are just for aesthetics even if they actually turn - and that there's handles on the inside.

In any case, that would seem weird because now the handles on the outside is exposed to bad weather and can rust/stain/weather, etc and may just look bad after a period of time.

I hope it's not a mistake either in manufacturing or in installation - because that would be very sad that it got to this far and no one noticed yet.

Could be legally required so someone doesn't get stuck outside.

You literally cannot be stuck outside as the balconies just go across - there is nothing to step out onto. You would literally have to crawl over the grate and hang onto it lol

I mean it's not the end of the world if they have to reverse them - but yeah, looks kinda funny.

Doesn't necessarily matter is my point. The law might be a technicality where it is required to have an outside handle.

People do the stupidest things. I can see some fool trying exactly what you describe. There's probably a need to have a lock though, so if that fool does not have a key, they will be SOL and likely to need medical attention forthwith.

We call it darwinism lol.. let those people take care of themselves lol.. darwin awards..

and yes I guess I can see someone trying it as well.. not that having a handle would necessary help them in that instance..

maybe the handles are for when peter pan visits

I assume those won't get rusty, but there'll be awhole lot of door knobs needing a repair by the looks of that picture in say, ten years. I find juliette balconies hilarious to me, they just look so silly. But so do those faux balconies above the entrance to some McMansions. Especially with a window above them. I used to wonder if some homeowners would just break their window to use their front "balcony".

EDIT: Ah yes, those front entrances are called porticos.

I don't really get the hate for juliette balconies. They seem like a fine compromise for a climate and situation where balconies make most sense. I've made numerous comments that I won't repeat related to why more developments shouldn't include full balconies, but this allows the entire unit to kind of act as the balcony in the summer months when the wind dies down.

Ya I kinda like the idea of Juliette balconies as well.

What do you do for bugs though? Is there a screen? I find when I open my windows for even 1 minute 5 flys come in :/

You just learn to live with it or buy a fly swatter. Europe doesn't have screen on almost any windows because almost all their windows are casement style windows, which while they could theoretically have screens are also used for hanging laundry, moving furniture in and out of the property, etc.

From the looks of it it looks like they may have scrapped the arched windows and shorter windows at the top and may just be going for the same uniform look all the way up. Hard to tell for sure though. I do wish people would stick to render designs though.
