Idk what i was hoping for here. Maybe that it was wider? Not a fan of how often we see two driveways next to each other creating the wide gaps between development.

Coincidence: Yesterday was running and just happened to stop. Looked at the eyesore abandoned building for the millionth time and wondered again if anything will ever be done. Also at the angle I gained a new appreciation for the building and for the first time noticed the name Medical Arts on the facade. Thought I would take pic and maybe post here asking if any rumors about its future. I know that if the Cap ever happens it would be part of that........but..........

Low and behold saw article in Urbanize last night and it has been put up for sale.

The Krispy Kreme on Ponce and Argonne started construction. Has anyone seen the plans for this? Are they rebuilding a suburban style building with a drive thru like what was there prior?

^Yes, unfortunately they already have their permits in hand. It will be a drive thru. Pending city council ordinances will block this type of development along Ponce and North in the future, but this one is already happening.

What a shame. Thanks for the info. Too bad they aren't putting the building closer to Ponce with drive thru in the rear and out of sight

^They might have to do that. I haven't seen site plans, just the descriptions from the permits, but I believe development along this part of Ponce does have to face the street, and has to have windows. If I had to guess it will look something like the Dunkin Donuts at Ponce and Boulevard.

This building and the Imperial Hotel building are my earliest memories of Atlanta when our family used to drive down to Florida from up north before moving to Georgia.

^Weird. Side note, SPI-17 code specifies one parking space max per bedroom, so would this be a 9 bedroom SFH?

Old Fourth Ward and West Midtown have some of the best new architecture... hopefully that'll come to midtown as well.

Love the design. Want to see more development similar in scale to this westward along Ponce back to Midtown. Boulevard (NE & SE) as well as Memorial Drive would also complement.

Unfortunately Howell Mill is in sad shape, over congested and becoming a bonafide strode. Huff RD is NOWHERE near up to the task of its explosive development and will be a nightmare to traverse. Plus the NASTY Merretta St strode is a near disaster to drive on and pure HELL death trap for pedestrians and bikers. Also most westside has a horrible lack of proper pedestrian and bike lanes and limited mass transit.
