Hard to find, all I could locate was this lousy pic via Heritage Trust:



I was in the new building a few years ago. While obviously well-built and having nice interiors, it was a strange building - feeling very cramped inside and badly compromised by being required to be a modern facsimile of an old structure. I did not like it much.

Thanks Keith. The photo quality is not great but it's better than I was able to find. Based on this photo, I have to say that I think JET's assessment is spot-on. There was something I didn't like about the re-creation but I can't put my finger on it now, though it may have come down to finishes... I'm not sure now - it's been so long since I had seen the old building in person.

I don't know, but I can tell you that its sister store in Dartmouth on Portland St is having a TD bank built in its parking lot.

This is correct. They're all TD banks. Bayers lake, joe howe, portland st. Seems like they're all replacing existing TD branches in future growth nodes or strip malls prime for redevelopment.

It will be nice to see this space filled. I think that there will soon be a need to somehow upgrade Joe Howe to somehow deal with the frequent left hand turners into Goodlife who seem to have no qualms crossing the double solid centre line.

I was just looking at this area again and it is 2393 MAYNARD STREET that is getting the new 20-unit building. This is the auto body shop on the north side of Buddy Daye. This is under HR-1 zoning.

On a separate note the reason I was looking this up again;

2382 Creighton Street is being demolished. This is at Buddy Daye Street. Power is cut and fencing is up and a sign on the door points to Root Development. There is no construction permit listed for this site.

I think that is a mix up cleared up in the other thread, the site in the photos is the old "Diamonds" bar at Prince William and is a local developer. I think the Urban Capital site is a little further down at the old MET site.

The last house on the Bliss/Robie corner before the dental office is gutted, the structure looks to only have weeks left before it is down.

Further north on Robie, the two houses north of Jubilee either side of "the house with black window" as I knew it as a kid look to be being prepped for demolition as well. The house in the middle is a registered historic property. Demolishing creeping in either side of it will (probably rightfully) garner the ire of historic groups.
