Another interesting purchase by Foxwood Developments. They have been recently buying properties around the city. This one on Dingman Dr. is not an obvious residential play given location and industrial zoning like the others.

2928-2746 Dingman Drive
type Industrial building with surplus land
price $4,500,000
seller 1822041 Ontario Ltd.
buyer Foxwood Developments (London) Inc.

They had previously announced plans to add 20 more restaurants in Canada starting in 2023. Would not be surprised to see one opened in London by 2024. Only question is where would they want to build? I could see anywhere around Wellington and 401 area as most likely location. I also expect a Panera Bread to open in the same time frame.

First heard that over a year ago. I think right at the corner at Kilbourne in front of Lowe's, across from Timmy's. Who knows though.

Can confirm that Chick-Fil-A is opening a location at Wonderland and Kilbourne. I went to York Dev's website for this plaza (https://www.yorkdev.ca/project/the-district-yorkville/), and I noticed a double-drive thru parcel on the site plan to the south of the existing Tim Hortons. According to the online city map, the parcel has an address of 3459 Wonderland Rd S.

If you plug in that address into the city's permit registry, a whole bunch of permits dated November and December 2022 come up for Chick-Fil-A.

McDonalds at Superstore should be happy when this happens, the convoy people will have a new home to hang out in front of. Maybe MyPillow will open a store out by there as well lol.

Sure. The so-called Freedom Convoy last year was well populated by right wing nut jobs. They gather in the Superstore Mall parking lot, even now, with basically zero covid restrictions. I see some of them parked on Wellington Rd over the 401 with their silly F Trudeau flags all the time. Chick Fil A and MyPillow are well known right wing businesses, the My Pillow guy more out in plain view since the Trump era than the CFA guy, who is fairly well known to be anti-LGBT. CFA also closes on Sundays, so I wouldn't be shocked the parking lot becomes a hangout of all sorts of pickup trucks adorned with various flags.

When this officially gets announced, and the various news outlets have this story on their social media, you probably want to avoid the comment section of those if my comment bothers you.

Even the first news story hints at how this is going to go

What bothers me is the senseless conjecture, as if you asserting something makes it true. I’m not a freedom trucker guy, I got my vaccines happily. I will however gladly eat at Chick Fil A like millions of others do at their 3000 locations. Also you might want to tell how they opened on Sunday & fed those affected by the gay night club shooting in Orlando a few years back.

@CanadiaTalk Great job digging into this and being able to find out about Chick-Fil-A. Interesting that you posted this a couple days ago and all the sudden it's been picked up by a couple of news outlets in London. Sort of confirms that they really don't do any investigation themselves, just linger around forms for news.

Haha thanks. Honestly I thought the same thing, and as like you said, we're now seeing news articles since our discussion here within the last two days, and the articles also use the city's application/permit site as their source. (edit: anddddd I just saw a CTV post a few moments ago on my Facebook feed). Not to mention that the permits have already been available on the city's public register for a couple of months now, but you have to type in that specific Wonderland address to see results.

Though it wasn't until I saw @london91 and @djeffrey's posts about it potentially being in that area, that I started to "investigate" lol by finding a drive-thru-looking building on York Dev's site plan on their website, and by using the city's online addressing map to get an address for that exact spot.

I actually tipped Craig Needles about this. I had an ongoing discussion with him about the big police search that stretched from London to Woodstock for almost 2 months before Christmas, so I mentioned this conversation and where the info was.

Almost 1000 comments on that post in under 5 hours. Opinions vary widely, as I suspected.
