Construction is winding down on the new Maternal/Newborn wing at the Moncton Hospital. Exterior construction is virtually complete, but there is still considerable interior finishing left to go. Opening will likely be next summer.

Meanwhile, it appears that the first steps towards construction of the new Cardiology wing at TMH are underway. I have just received my eviction notice for my parking spot in lot 4 (in behind the Dr. Sheldon Rubin Oncology Clinic). This is where the Cardiology wing is going. I am being relocated to lot 3 (in front of the Ambulatory Care Centre).

In any event, this is good evidence that construction on the Cardiology wing will begin next spring.

New Harley Davidson Dealership Opens in Moncton

all T&T photos

More than just a motorcycle shop, this new location will also sell parts, accessories, clothing, giftware and e-bicycles. They even have a coffee bar.

I count myself as in the market for an e-bike. I'll have to check them out!

Congratulations!!!
Couldnt have happened to a nicer couple.

They have some great beers to go available right now for anyone who hasnt stopped in before.

I was there this week and noticed the foundation for their renovation/addition is coming along nicely.

Steel frame also started going up a couple of days ago. Going to look rather impressive when finished.

1299 Corner of Main and Vaughn Harvey. Hole is dug and fenced for what i assume will be a tower crane base. They probably want to have both underground parking levels complete in order for a spring start on the main tower.

It would interesting to see if a building permit was issued and the value of the pernit.

The public hearing and council rezoning approval hasn't happened yet, so it's unlikely a permit has been issued.

Great. I was not expecting a start this year.

True. Woulldn't they need some sort of city permit to dig a hole of this size? I rooted around ythe city building permit website, but could not comeup with a list of permits issued.

Lafford was moving dirt and had materials including crane sections on site before it’s final council reading. I’m not a gambler but I’ll bet a dollar that’s a crane base going in.

Very true. City planning and city council has it's fingers all over this project (the city owned some of the land and sold it to the developer). I would imagine any remaining paperwork is a mere formality. The developer has probably been reassured that if he does any preemptive digging that he won't be punished.

Former UNI branch on St George Street

Good afternoon,
Long time follower, first time poster.
As I was buying some bread and coffee at Co_Pain this morning, I noticed renderings for a planned expansion of their neighbouring daycare. It would appear that a new operation for children 0-3 (Garderie UNI Vert Cité) will be located at the old UNI branch on St George Street.

Actual renders have appeared for the first two of the anticipated nine 6 storey apartment buildings on Millennium Blvd. These were found on the Spitfire Designs Facebook page:

These are actually nicer looking than I expected. Although the buildings are identical, they at least tried to mix things up in terms of colour palette.

I still have a problem with the site layout, but I am more encouraged now than I was before that this will be a decent development.

It could always be worse, at least this development isn’t like Clayton Park West. 10-15 6+ storey towers right by the highway. There’s not even a good street network there, it’s just a bunch of driveways.

But here, there is way to much parking. When you’re walking in the park, the building seems way to close to the park as well. This development should have been more like the one on twin oaks, and less like the apartment buildings that have been going up near the TCH on mountain road the last few years.

I like the designs they picked out actually. Hopefully construction starts soon with them!

The first building is topping off as we speak. The second building is undergoing foundation work, and the base for the tower crane has been installed. I'm sure the crane working on the first building will be moved over once topping off is complete.

I think this whole development will move along expeditiously, probably at the rate of one building per year. Full build out might be complete by 2030.

Lord knows we need the apartment capacity. This city is busting at the seams!!!
