its hell here lol. Currently -8 with a real feel of -12. Lougheed Highway around 11 pm was just snow and ice, i don't think it saw a plow or salt truck all day. Highway 1 looked slightly better. All the side roads are just a sea of white.

People without snow tires are being told to stay home.

I truly am going to — lose it. Gotta be close to day 20 without sun. It’s so dark and grey today that lots of the automatic streetlights are still on. And heavy rain forecast. I literally did not leave my bed yesterday. Even moved the TV up from the living room. I’d still be there if I didn’t have to work. Only bright side was having the window open all day to change the air in the house lol

Rain, dark, dreary, and 3 degrees at just after 10am.

SHH, have you considered getting an air exchange unit installed in your house? I'd honestly recommend them for every home.

0C and light snow in Moncton at 9 AM, with virtually no change in the forecast for the next 36 hours.

It is however the type of snow that doesn't really accumulate. Since last evening, we might have had a total of 2 cm of new snow accumulation, but the roadways are mostly clear. EC is again making dire predictions of 15-25 cm of accumulation over the next 36 hours, but they have been crying wolf since Friday afternoon, with little to show for their constant braying. I suppose things could change for the worse, but we'll see.

Tonight is my second last night on call ever. I don't want to have to deal with a snowstorm at 3 in the morning driving back into the hospital.....................

The forecast is evolving, the only thing certain is a cold Christmas. I'm watching the precip closely, this may be a rare lake effect snow setup for us, as the cold air approaches from the southwest, coming straight over Lake Erie. This is a rare occasion where I'm hoping the rain turns to snow (and then melts way around New Year's when the temps go back above freezing)

Got out for a bike ride Friday afternoon just as the snow started. Sat morning the temps were already at -19 so stayed home in front of the fireplace to watch a bike race on TV. (spoiler local Edmonton rider finished 9th at a world cup). Sunday temps were even lower so started my annual Christmas tradition of carpet and furniture cleaning.

This morning it did feel cold. And the 2 cm of snow we were supposed to get seems to have continued all weekend so now we have between 6-8 on the ground.

Nice having heated parking for the office. Got my training room (The Thunder Dome).all set up for the cold. But the cold should only last until the 24th when the temps are back up to -8 or warmer. so back out side through the holidays.

Only one site visit this week before the break so make sure my PPE is left in the house and not the car. Nothing worse than cold boots and a hard hat that is an ice box.

How I would like (at least once in my life) to record a sub-zero temperature in my city, where I live. At least once! I remember when I was a child and in winter there were very cold nights (obviously cold according to the climatic parameters of Palermo, an hellish city where the minimum average temperatures of the coldest month of the year are around 9' centigrade) I leaned in front of the window (outside the window) a glass filled with water hoping, a few hours later, to find it ice cold. Sadly, much to my regret, that never happened

I'm surprised Van/Vic have a low chance of a white Xmas. They're both under winter/snowfall warnings and are going to be very cold up until Xmas Eve. I guess TWN expects the Christmas eve warmup to melt everything.

We're on track for a white Christmas. The forecast does have to going up to +10 on Thurs with rain, a dramatic cool down and snow follows that though.

Dry cold - your nose falls off and you don’t feel a thing.

You can feel it dry out the inside of your lungs if you inhale deeply enough.

I’d be morbidly curious about how a damp cold would feel at -35.

I don't know, but I do know that I freeze to death in S. Ont when it's -4C.

I can do -30C in Alberta but that damp-type cold chills me right to the bone.

Fortunately it's not physically possible for -35 to be wet cold.

Trying to cheer myself up with paint. I've been wanting to add some pink to the kitchen. Couldn't choose between three shades but luckily one was called Little Piggy. Done It's still grey, still raining, and, of course, night.

Another aside: learned tonight my grandmother’s old NL passport noted “Misuse may result in deportation to Australia” - and at this time of year, I’d take it lol
