295 Jarvis Street | 199.4m | 60s | Tricon? l Core Architects l pre-construction

After a long two year snooze @ 36 storeys (with ownership changes), this one is back in rezoning action at a whopping 60 storeys and just shy of 200 metres (199.4m). Just below the Sick Kids Hospital flight path rules, this has 618 residential units proposed (which last I heard were to be rental).

Located on Jarvis between Dundas and Gerrard. Features 2 separate over-hangs above its podium… hopefully it won’t fall over.

i assume the townhouses are part of the development block otherwise, it's way too much density for the site. I kinda like it. It's a diamond in the rough. The tower needs some more cues from the base. The service entrances need to be moved off Church.

2350 Yonge | 166.65m | 50s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli l pre-construction

On Yonge a block north of Eglinton. First rendering released for this condo and retail showing its tall, thin and wide footprint (exaggerated by the artist as usual).

Actual Massing.

1220 Yonge | 80.8m | 22s | Trinity Point Development | BBB l pre-construction

Into its community consulation phase, BBB sure likes their curves (resembles some of their other designs downtown). Located about 5 blocks south of St. Clair Avenue. Could turn out well with the right materials.

Some new renderings… just love this mid-rise with its playful nods to the past. KINGston Road is quickly becoming the KING of mid-rises. More please.

It looks like my area will be seeing an uglier version of 2221 Yonge then, they really should just buy out that RBC branch.

I'm not a huge fan of 1220 Yonge, just because it looks so generic and the street level is not very inviting compared to what its there now (narrow frontage retail), but I am glad to see that area intensified.

Wow 4151 has good elements but is way too busy, I only wish they stuck with one look. I like how the upper portion appears.

Absolute hack job and then they added balconies using a pin the tail on a donkey algorithm. Can't call it bland though.

Like they dusted off every 4.5 star hotel design to never be and smooshed them into one Chamberlain Architectural Services masterpiece. Call it the Homewood Hampton

A 70 floor mixed use tower (office / rental / condo) has been proposed today for Metrotown across the street from Concord Metrotown's signature tower currently U/C.

I like it!

All of these new residents in Metrotown are going to make eating at Crystal Mall's food court even more difficult.

^ as I mentioned in the "Tallest Proposals" thread, very NYC throw-back and very handsome.

1840 Bayview Avenue l ?m l 34s l Skale l a-A l pre-construction

Another tallish one for mostly low-rise/mid-rise Bayview, with a residential and retail mix (plus off-site parkland dedication).

Very Manhattanish. I like it! Hopefully there's good quality materials and it's not just a spandrel mess.

Wow. That's a big building for Bayview. I'm not opposed to the density, but still would hope for more articulation on the facade and more solid materials. It's going to look like a 50 floor building from Eglinton due to the hill.

48 Avondale is another huge project that's surprising me due to it's height, but it makes sense considering the existing density of buildings nearby.

That's one nice looking poject for Metrotown, wow. I'm just curious about VE at that point.

If you put a light bar up the corner and a spire you get the St Regis Hotel. Only kidding, it looks much cleaner and better.

I share your hopes, but I suspect this one might look quite different (and less Manhattanish) if we saw a rendering with midday lighting...

The crown, stepbacks and facade with punched windows should continue if the details are ever made public. It feels like a flip after some googling.

Site plan for proposed development at MicMac Mall in Dartmouth; no renders available yet:

Source

This is following similar high-level proposals at Halifax Shopping Centre, Park West Plaza, and Penhorn Plaza in recent years. Hopefully some of these will actually get built out relatively soon.

Development in Downtown Ottawa bordered by Lyon, Bay, Slater and Lyon. The 23 and 29 floor towers are u/c by Main+Main. The 35 floor tower is expected to start soon (they were saying end of 2022), but I suspect it might only be after the first two towers are up. 23/29/35f
