Thanks for clarifying that...I went and did a quick look on maps, and it looks like there is one of those developments in the vicinity of Hamilton St. South and Barton Street in Waterdown. I guess that's what's in your picture....

Driving along the 403 you can really notice the difference in our skyline. It's really filling up the core.

3 more floors to go! It's starting to look tall now. It's a shame these couldn't be just a few more floors taller like 75 James will be - that extra 4 floors would really give a bit of extra verticality.

You never know, they could pull a Vrancor and look to add just a few more floors!

You may be thinking of Television City.

These were originally different heights, but I don't recall if there was yet another plan before they became 30 and 30.

This was from 6 years ago:

The owner of the building has proposed to construct a $50-million, mixed-used development that includes ground-floor commercial and 655 residential units above the sixth floor. The development will include two towers with maximum heights of 25 and 34 storeys. The building would be built on a podium that ranges from three to six storeys. There would be 442 parking spaces.

Ah, I think you are right. But I did remember seeing the varying heights. Thank you

I am amazed the tiny building on the corner here has survived - what is it - 3 stories?

Walked by here today - they have real bricks stacked up on the scaffolding sections. Hopefully the podium starts to take shape soon!

It's not that old either - it's on the streetview from 2007 but I don't recall it being there much before that. I wonder if the courthouse might eventually be expanded onto that lot.

Amazing how values have escalated and driven the need for increased density to generate the needed ROI.

We'll have a denser core. And a bigger budget for infrastructure and services, especially on the periphery.

This one may very well have been 40 and 30 storeys if it were proposed today. Maybe 50 and 40.

Yeah I can't see this one lasting long with all the development around it..

also I am noticing the cladding for the towers appears to be different than the proposed render, so I am hoping against hope they have made some last minute changes to the podium so it doesn't look like a gross ellen faircloudesque building with holes punched in it for windows and simple brick on that corner between 2 now beautiful buildings.. thats always gonna be a sore spot for me..

I just hate how in this day and age the exterior cladding is designed as an afterthought as opposed to being the main aesthetic priority.

Pic for reference - those boxy grid things don't appear to have made it into the plan:

Could those boxes not be added later on? I think they're still possible to have with the current structure

Yes. Looks 100% still on target to look like those renderings.
