Interesting story about a Ottawa condo project that was just cancelled due to new economic realities. I suspect we will see similar decisions being made in London and may even include rentals. The shortage of high rise construction workers may be ending soon as projects wrap up and no new projects get started.
If they haven't already done so many storefront businesses downtown should install steel shutters to protect their windows and doorways from breakins. HiRez night vision security cameras are also a very good idea and taking these measures might help in keeping their insurance costs from increasing beyond sustainability.

I noticed the Sold sign up on the old factory building at 455 Highbury Ave N. on the SW corner of Highbury and Bridges. Looks like the zoning application is to turn it into yet another self storage location.
I wonder what the vacancy rate is for Farhi buildings. A lot of them appear completely empty or nearly so. How can he afford the upkeep without rental income?
