Does the Bloor-Danforth run under that main street?

It runs the under the one with the mosque at the left side, with the larger buildings nearby, yeah.

Some great views of the fog rolling in again. I'm in the east end and it's zero visibility. The downtown core looks pretty clear though. 5pm Thursday

Love to be up there on a foggy day.

Is that monolithic building in the centre of frame a government building or courthouse? I know I've walked past it many times but never paid any attention to it. Also are there any plans from the city for that parking lot behind it as well as covering that section and more of Boulevard Ville Marie?

I'm always envious of the jack pines and Spruce tree that surround Edmonton. You city seems to have the best mixture of deciduous and coniferous in the country. But I would miss the fall colours we get here in the east.

Yeah, that image of Edmonton amazes me. I gather there's some editting involved or something, but just seeing that much green and differing vegetation is amazing to me. It looks like a dynamic tree canopy, which is certainly great ecologically and in general for livability.

Great image of Montreal as well. The layering and different scale of the city always blows me away.

That building you are referring to is in fact the Montreal courthouse.

I don't know about better ecologically. It just is. This is going back to primary school science. Either my memory or the science I recall is no longer valid. However, native forests consisting of Edmonton's dynamic evergreens, birch, etc. are a more primitive stage in the evolution of forests compared to native hardwood forests consisting of Toronto's mighty maples and oaks. Health and welfare of the canopy is probably best with urban forest departments putting emphasis on planting native species over fast growing, dynamic or, pretty as they have did a generation ago.

The residential tower is coming together! The office tower looks a fair bit shorter.
