moving along here even more now with a permit issued for signage.

I believe this is to add office space above the Dollarama.

Work is now in progress to add an addition to the mall and I see there is work taking place around the old Chinese eatery also. It'll clean up this area!

Unrelated to what anyone's been talking about as of recent, has the new road(s), and roundabout on the trans-canada in stratford preparation of Crossroads by the Gray Group? In their video, They showed the roads in the same location.

I also saw construction, or something? I was driving through. didn't have a while lot of time to look. Could anybody please give me some insight on what's happening with this?

If history is any indication, that plan will never see the light of day. This is third plan for Stratford in the last 10-15 years. The developer is already deviating away from the plan by building a gas station where the plan shows an office/retail. If their first building is a gas station, then it’s clear they have no real vision, and are not interested in following their own plan.

But the roundabout will make way for a new street to connect tow hall to MacKinnon Drive, which will open up a big area for some sort of development.

I do hope that there's some sort of development in that area. it's quite a large, undeveloped area. Though, I do believe that the general idea for Crossroads isn't that bad. instead of building building boring, drab. and downright depressing surburbs; which take up a 🞵🞵🞵🞵 tonne of land, we build taller instead.

Though, The office park / Petrol station is sort of extreme in my opinion. it also just make's not very much sense in general.

Though, It would be nice to have a condo in one of those somewhat high-rise condo buildings if the project does go ahead. it'd be a nice view!

I heard through the grapevine that Pizza Hut is going to be opening next to Mary Browns Chicken in Stratford. That is going to be interesting. Let the pizza wars begin in Stratford.

I just did a location search on pizzahut.ca and it’s showing a location at 320 Capital Drive, which is where the new Tim Horton’s is opening next to May Point. Nothing listed for Stratford, yet.

They must be opening one in May Point as well. They are doing work inside that plaza.

I've noticed a lot of work taking place in this forever vacant lot on North River Rd. At one time a developer wanted to build a seven storey apartment building here but was met with NIMBY opposition because they said it would be too big and would block their view.
I doubt that is what is going on here but something is up!

I don't know. MAY be the 7 Storey condo, though I heavily doubt it. Hope it's something interesting at the least. I live in north river, on the right side of the Trans-Canada, So I can get a pretty good view of the general area.

I go down in that direction quite often. might take a quick look at it my next time down there.

It's also in a great location for some kind of residential development. waterfront view, close to Charlottetown 'Rural', in walking / biking distance of many of stores and amenities, not too far from UPEI, and the city-centre isn't too far from the location!

Sorry to see it go!!! Ya, I know, it was an eyesore but it held old memories for me as I went to HC for one year there.

Now can someone tell me how we can get rid of the old Pickard Machinery buidling torn down in Charlottetown. That land is prime for rental units, two ten storey or higher buildings would fit nicely. With the all schools, businesses, etc. in the area, it would be perfect.

Where is that? I know I'm replying to an old message, but still.
