The first one has me confused. How can that be East York?

Same, I'm going to assume they meant "Taken" from East York.

Yeah, It's North York Centre in the background with Hullmark and Emerald Park. The 3 towers in the foreground have been driving me crazy. They look so familiar.

Fortunately, it came to me. They are Scenic on Eglinton.

Very cool! I had a feeling it would be a pretty unique and interesting neighbourhood with the added visual interest of the huge grain terminal looming in the background!

That Spadina pic is a good example of the skyline growing increasingly westward. That shot compared to five years ago is night and day.

I think Spadina might be the best street in Canada.

Place du Portage I was built in 1973 according to the database, and looks like the second building in that complex (1975) was nearing top-out, so I'd guess 1974?

Not familiar with Clair, but based on this photo it doesn't look all that hot.

St. Clair is full of rich people from Deer Park, Forest Hill, etc. that love to speed and sometimes end up on the streetcar tracks. I'll take the chaosand liveliness of Spadina any day of the week.

Spadina is a grand old commercial boulevard that's CBD-adjacent, rather than in the heart of downtown itself, so it mixes a certain grandeur and intensity with local flavour.

It kind of reminds me of Manhattan between Canal and 34th streets. Or, at least, it's the closest place where you come to getting that feel in Canada.

Agreed. Spadina is great. I stayed in a loft for a week on Spadina near the graffiti alley a few years ago and I recall some great mornings peering down at the street while sipping my coffee. Best street in Canada? I'd reckon it's in contention, for sure.

Here's one from yesterday from a new UT member.... (east of Spadina) cranes everywhere to the west of the MINT core.[/B]
