This was indeed short lived. Waldorf Astoria in Miam now holds the title.

But at least this isn't yet another stacked-box building. (Austin already has one.)

But that one in Miami looks like it may be twisted if this rendering is the most recent one. Twisted is kinda cool, actually. But yeah, I get your point.

TBH, that thing could really use some chain link up along the tippy top there.

Very nice! I went by the site for the first time in months today, and the hole is much deeper in person than it appears in photos.

Yeah, I'm just looking at the giant bulldozers and excavators for scale. They look like toys in there.

Ignore the creepy commercial. Found this on Facebook today. It seems to be soliciting investors for the Waller Creek project. Could this possibly mean that construction financing is not completely lined up on this project? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP6JKis0mEI

I doubt they would have broke ground without their financing lined up. Cadre probably participated with a convertible debt instrument.

What is going to happen with the subsidized housing looking apartment complex to the west?

I like the crown close-up. I don't think we have seen that detail yet.

For the time being, the subsidized housing adjacent to the Four Seasons will remain untouched. Previous efforts to privatize (and demolish) the project met with stiff resistance, and, given the homeless crisis, I imagine it would be even more intense today. One of these days, it will probably meet up with the wrecking ball or face implosion.

Blackstone provided the $675 million construction loan. I don't know what Cadre's current connection is.

Or at the very least, a facelift which is waaaay overdue but probably won't ever happen giving that its low cost housing.
