One West Palm Could Finish Completion In 2023 At 550 North Quadrille Boulevard, West Palm Beach, Florida

Quote:
McNamara Salvia Structural Engineers reports that One West Palm is close to completion. The mixed-use development will offer two 30-story towers, measuring 426 feet each.

One tower offers 326 luxury homes, while the other comprises 201 hotel rooms. Communal amenities comprise a fitness center, spa, indoor pool, two outdoor pools, and indoor tennis courts. An eight-story podium connects the two towers. The podium itself offers six stories of parking.

One West Palm also offers more than 20,000 square feet of commercial space, including a daycare center, corner parks, and shops. There’s also about 200,000 square feet of Class A office space. The Palm Beach Post reports that general contractors hope to finish the project in fall 2023, if no delays arise. Yet, some construction experts note that completion in 2024 is more feasible.

Construction started nearly three-and-a-half years ago. Jeff Greene is the owner and developer. Arquitectonica is the architect. Right now, the residences’ sizes aren’t publicly available. However, Apartments.com notes that the one-bedroom, one-bathroom units average around 736 square feet.

I think i know why "One West Palm" is taking longer than expected, apparently they added 4 extra stories so it now going to be 34 stories instead of 30, according to baker construction

Hmm, both towers have a 4+ FL increase or just the residential portion?

Are there new elevations released? I can't find much about FAA archives. If it's a 4+ FL increase we might see the office portion be 480 FT +.

Ah, I see, I'm not sure what portion they're referring to. If both sides are 34 stories the office tower will be the higher portion because of its higher floorplates compared to its residential twin. I'm guessing they mean the office portion will reach a height of 434 FT, with the residential reaching the assumed 381 FT.

Even during construction, the towers look striking. Can't wait until the finished product is made! I also believe that WPB can be a major regional city (200K+ people) in the coming decade, so smart growth (light rail, multifamily units, etc.) is a must if WPB is going to succeed!

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Developer Jeff Greene will pay the city of West Palm Beach $5 million in "liquidated damages" if he doesn't complete his downtown building by the end of 2027, according to a proposed agreement between himself and the city.

City administration is asking city commissioners to approve the deal, which would put a deadline on Greene to finish the city's tallest building, located at 550 Quadrille Blvd.

The project, called One West Palm, was supposed to be completed in 2021 after the April 2019 groundbreaking, but the development, including office space, hotel and luxury residential units, is still not finished.

I would assume that it'll get finished in any case (worst case, by someone else...) ?

It is a head scratcher that over the course of a decade the developer(s?) has been unable to finish construction when demand is so ludicrously high for luxury housing in the Palm Beaches. It would not shock me if the developer has some shady deals behind the scenes that has stymied their ability to pay the contractors. A quick Google search shows they are quite the piece of work.

South Flagler House, which is two towers of comparable height with a starchitect design, is already topped out and breezing towards completion.
