What's great about this is that it'll take up most of the surface parking lot in back (which fronts Quincy St). Not that it's somewhere people will go to because it's basically an alley, but it's definitely better utilization of this entire parcel. It has only 125 parking spots planned too for that many units as well, and there's ground floor commercial planned. The developer is Mavrek.

Also, this is directly east of the proposed redevelopment of the Bays building (11 stories, 72 units, 140 feet tall).

I'm surprised to see them tearing down 1016 W Jackson which is only 12 years old. I guess Class B office space ain't what it used to be.

Yeah, I was surprised as well. I thought for sure they would just be building on the back half, but the plans say otherwise.

Haven’t been past the site, but I think a drill rig as been delivered to the Elizabeth & Fulton project. 225 N. Elizabeth/1245 W. Fulton.

Agreed. I've always liked the balance and grid of this design.

920 N Wells

920 N Wells

10/26/22

Looks like it's topped out as they've removed forms from the core.

Ground breaking was 5/13/22.

5.5 months from ground breaking to topping out for 18 floor building pretty swift to say the least.

Also the crane jumped at the New Deahl site as well.

Noticed site fence went up on Van Buren to fill in the gap between the Related building and Tandem building. I’m not sure if there is more recent info but this was proposed for that site pre-Covid:

^ Very good catch! There are several pending permits for 1101 W Van Buren, so it looks like this one is going to start soon

Great renderings. That area is kind of a dead zone tho, is it because the highway is right next door?

Either way, the West Loop transformation is amazing. Don't know if there's any Boston folks in here, but the West Loop is the Seaport of Chicago.
