I don't think I made my mind up in 2014 and 2018 until I entered the voting booth. It feels like it has been a matter of choosing the "least worst" mayoral candidate for some time now.

I don't think I've actually been enthused about a mayoral candidate since, well, the last time Glen Murray ran.

I'm just of the perspective that it's time for someone new. It's unfortunate that it comes down to name recognition for something as critical as the future of our city.

In the end I would rather have a Great Big Sea Concert than be known as the City that banned gay marriage and abortion (yes, I know, I'm being facetious, he doesn't control such things).

I was just hoping for some Rage Against the Machine or Foo Fighters this time around.

I was excited about bowman 1. He said the right things.

Similar to most here, I was undecided until the last second between Loney and Murray. Ultimately opted for Loney. I really don't think this is going to be the pure Murray vs Gillingham race that some are trying to make it out to be. Gillingham and Klein will cut the right and center-right in half and I think Murray has likely continued to hemmorage votes to Loney, RFO, Gillingham, Bokhari, etc.

I think anyone of Murray, Klein, Gillingham and Loney could realistically win. And I think Loney has a decent shot because even though his policy prescriptions are all very progressive, he postures as a centrist which I think opens up an avenue for him to take votes from Gillingham from the right AND Murray from the left.

The bottom-line for me was that if Murray couldn't even convincingly get ME, someone who has everyone reason to like him and supported him initially, to vote for him, I can't help but think it's not a two-man race.

Alas, we'll see though. For all I know Murray could lose to Gillingham by a single vote and break my spirit lol

I struggled to decide who to vote for today. But ultimately, I went with Murray. I just couldn't bring myself to vote for Gillingham. I really feel if he gets in it will be more of the same as it was with Bowman. I just feel we need some vision for this city and not another 4 years of nothingness like Bowman. I really did consider Loney, but at the end of the day I was strategic and decided to go with Murray simply because I don't want Gillingham to get the job.

Off to hold my nose and vote. Yeah...Murray has the pedigree here. Too bad he didn't live up to that in the campaign. I've decided to cast my vote for him...but not enthusiastically...more strategic like Jammon noted above. If he wins, sure hope he shows more energy, commitment, clarity and vision than we have seen over the past weeks.

That's probably the strongest reason to vote for Murray; no "learning curve", and he knows (or at least knew) how to get things done.
