Linear Balcony Appreciation Thread

Pretty much what the topic says!

I will get it started. Please, please help contribute to this one as opposed to my Favorite Buildings in Ottawa thread. I just want to lay out a general idea and I am curious to see and hear your feedback.

For me... horizontal banded balconies are some type of oddball fixation I have.

Bronson and Laurier. When they redid the balcony glass to the tint a few years ago this thing went way up in my books. Shes a beaut. Don't sleep.

This one on Laurier is also sweet. Precast concrete can go a long way folks.

I don't think I have ever taken a photo where I wanted a chainsaw so badly. I did the best I could. This building is peak late model concrete precast for sure and I love it.

We know the Barclay from one of my previous favorite building threads. This building is clean ASF and just gets it done. Shes a clean machine. What a beaut. It's amazing how it doesn't really matter what building materials are used and you can still achieve a wonderful construct. To me anyways. Not everything needs to be mirror glass and peacock to be the hot new thing.
The Barclay is awesomer than frig.

Stop.. I cant only get so moist.

East market. I am going to add this one as a linear balcony... I don't like? not really sure why... I'm just not that down with it. Don't hate it but it's very much in the meh pile.

Anyhow. I would love to hear your thoughts and feelings, but also.. contribute! just for funzies... lets try to compile every dang building in Ottawa with a similar set of balconies.

Lead forth my Stoli warriors.

That face is amazing, until you get to the beige podium. Why did they have to fail on the podium? Why did they have to add that metal cladding to the edges?

This building is excellent and terrible at the same time.

Given the industrial nature in the base of that building I would have liked to see more emphasis on that aspect. There is a large window facing the river but they could have done more.

This development on Heron is a nice example of what I'm arbitrarily calling boxed linear balconies.

Looks decent. Different from what we usually see.

These are a cool set of buildings. I love the color palette and styling. Eager to see what the rest of the Herongate development will look like if this is any indication.

That burgundy and dark reddish brown brick are an excellent pairing. The medium grey and tan are also a great fit. Some designer here really understands how a color wheel works.

OH wait.. we are talking about balconies! I especially like the two different glass heights with the knee wall.
