There are two there...

1. The Pearl

2. CNIB's new residential tower

There will be a third to join this group just in front of that taller red crane (a separate project) on the top of bank as well.

Oh yeah, there are two

That angle made it seem like one tower. Reminded me of Cathedral Hill in Ottawa that kind of looks like it could be two towers:

Give me more of Montreal's many layers. It is like undressing a beautiful lady. A lovely landlocked lady.

If you know what you are doing, you can get the moisture flowing (and open up the floodgates).

This one is not bad either, also from this week... I would love to live in a penthouse where you can wake up in the morning in the clouds like that.

With such an awesome Old Town, this city can carry its own weight even without more 200m buildings. More of these today just add to the overall skyline which is greatbut the soul of Montreal lies in its Old Town quarter.

the only time I ever feel vertigo is when I see photos like this...my palms get sweaty. Even though I love heights, just seeing someone on the edge without much to send them over...make sure that Chair Girl isn't lurking nearby.

Those became a big trend maybe a decade ago and I've always hated them even though it's hard to explain exactly why. I think part of it is that it distracts from the cityscape which is the genre of photography I'm actually interested in. Not just that it distracts, but that it's actually a picture of the person rather than the city with the city just playing a supporting role which means the composition is often quite different than an image intended to feature the cityscape. As a result it seems like a wasted opportunity.

But the other thing is that it just seems so silly and immature. Like, "Hey look at me every body! Isn't this wild?? Aren't I brave?? Look!! " And I'm like "No. You're breaking the law and risking your personal safety just to ruin a perfectly good cityscape view as part of a lame and over-saturated photography trend"
