Saskatoon is not landlocked, and has greater boats. For shame, MolsonExport.

I await Jhikka's wrath.

Saskatoon will outgrow Montreal sometime between 2050 and 2080. It's an undeniable demographic reality! /s

Laval... oh my.. now I'm sad.

Well, the single family homes spoil the comparison, so it's not quite Waterloo-Oblast yet.

Thanks for the drone video.

Waterloo's twins, triplets and quadruplets of residential towers give it a very strange modern Russian feel.

AKA Malek’s hideout? No thanks. I count on MartinMtl to get my Montreal fix on here

If they start building facilities ahead of time, the city will be ready to embrace a role as one of our Great Canadian Ports

Well, an Eastern European developer did design/develop the majority of those Waterloo high rises so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Laval has completed 55 high rises in the past 12 years according to the SSP database

Laval has roughly 26 high rises under construction that don't get any attention here or very little on Montreal forums as well.

Central Parc Laval (3 x 16 stories - 2 x 19 stories - 2 x 22 stories)
Espace Montmorency (16, 20 stories)
Le James (15 + 16 stories)
Marquise (8 buildings of 12 to 14 stories)
Market (1 x 13 stores - 2 x 16 stories)
Equinoxe (2 x 16 stories)
Viva phase 5 (16 stories)
Viva phase 6 (25 stories)

There are many more of 10 stories that don't qualify as high rises...

very loose definition of "high rise" considering most are under 50m tall

Montreal looking hefty in this shot with its new additions plugging in some gaps. Also, Victoria sur le Parc looks to be over 200m tall (205m maybe?) considering neighboring Tour de la Bourse is 190m and that crown is taller than 10m.

The most widely accepted definition of a high rise is 12 storeys or 35 metres. Building codes are usually around 8 floors.

No idea, I haven't been in years. I know it was quite the toxic dump back then. You probably have to swear an oath to Malek to become a member today.
