Steam from the Burnaby Incinerator (as it was then called) was previously piped to a nearby paper/pulp mill/recycler (Newstech?),
but they shut down a number of years ago.

i believe the old mill at the site of the development was owned by MacMillan Bloedel back in the day.

still a shame they didn't save at least a few trees... even as a pulp and paper mill the place had more trees...

The plant I was thnking about (that used the steam) was much closer to the incinerator than River District.

It was a mill that was originally Belkin, Crown Packaging, Norampac, then Cascades.

Once there two tower complete it will hopefully re-open pathways that are now closed and you need to do a detour to get around it.

I have no issues with this at all. I’m ninth floor, east-facing.

People in the building on lower levels have mentioned stink bugs this year, which seems to be connected to our weird, dry, warm weather lately.
