They're starting the stone work on the exterior of The Tides building and most of the windows have been installed. They'll have no problem getting it sealed up so that they can work on the interior all winter.

Overall, I find that this project is moving along slowly though.

I noticed this morning that the crane is now up and running. 40 more units in Riverview with a good view of the water.

There’s a plot of land on 37 Trites road I think and around a year ago the trees were cut down and left there and nothings happen but I passed by there today I noticed the brush was mostly cleared out. Does anybody know what’s happening there?

Yes, it's a 3 story apartment building. The project was approved as a 6 unit building back in early 2021, but they've changed the plans and now it's 12 units.

Another one of these smaller in-filling apartment buildings in Riverview.

Hearing from a Riverview Sobeys employee that a dollarama is being built beside Sobeys.

I saw a excavator sitting over there I thought it would be for Kent but maybe not

Sobeys, NBLC liquor store & Dollar Store. Just like Vaughan Harvey.

I can foresee more retail/commercial coming to Findlay Park in the future. With the amount of apartment buildings under construction and planned for the future, there'll be a lot more people living in this area of Riverview in the next few years. And who knows what other development plans are in the works behind the scenes. For example, that property at the corner of Pine Glen & Whitepine where the municipal garage was is prime for development. It's 10 acres in a pretty choice location!

I can confirm that there is a Dollarama planned for Riverview, and that area makes the most sense. No idea on the timeline however.

Drove by it last night, and it looks to be a substantial size. I wonder if it's just a Dollarama, or could there be another tenant as well?

Most new Dollarama’s are about 10,000 sq. Ft. So there is a good chance this one will be no different.

Good place for it. I've often been surprised that Empire didn't locate a Lawton's Pharmacy in that development in Riverview. I know there's an in house pharmacy in the Sobeys, but there is one in the Elmwood Sobeys too, and that didn't stop them from building a standalone Lawton's there too...........

I think that the Shoppers Drug Mart store would do a lot better in Findlay Park if they were to relocate there. Never liked the location that they're in now. Sort of like Kent - I think they'll do better in their new (planned) location.

Alison Dawn Voice & Music Studio will be opening a business (2 units) at 630 Pinewood Rd. (Same strip mall as Subway).

The first unit would have two lesson rooms & staff room while the second unit will have a large classroom, three lesson room and performance area.

Agreed, that shoppers is annoying to get in and out of too. Lawtons is a store that I think would do well in Riverview. I’m also always surprised at the general lack of fast food options in the town. And if you live in the eastern side of town, forget about it, there is ZERO options, not even a Tim Hortons.
