It's funny, for a minute I looked at those Winnipeg shots and imagined a scenario where I would live there. The answer is still no, but it looks pretty enticing if still a step down from a bigger city. Of the big 3 cities the only one I would consider living in would be Montreal. For a city of similar size to Winnipeg the other contender would be Victoria. But it's much more expensive.

^Don't underestimate Winnipeg and its offerings. It's a fine city and would be easy to live there; just needs to better address violence and underlying social issues.

Winnipeg has by far the best bones of any of the major Prairie cities and, arguably, Vancouver even.

I never get tired of photos of the Aldred building. The combo with the cathedral across the street is unparalleled in Canada. The most Gotham architecture we have.

Just a gold mine of historic buildings in Winnipeg. I guess Winnipegers haven't embraced high density living. Too bad because they could have a downtown neighbourhood similar to Victoria's. Or even greater.

Somewhere in Ontario.

A very long lens shot across Lake Ontario on a hazy day. Photographed from “Brock’s Monument” in Queenston, Ontario (near Niagara Falls).

Just before leaving Canada, I rented a loft on Notre-Dame across from the Aldred Building, maybe four doors east.

I nearly crossed the line out of being a mere social smoker just because lighting up in that fifth-floor window felt so cinematic, you could kind of nestle under the arch with a glass of wine and a Marlboro and reflect under that ziggurat.

Luckily I soon moved to Pristina, where the whole cigarettes thing felt less film noir and more "bus station in 1976".

You can really see the earth's curvature on this one, with the first 40 meters or so of the TO skyline "under" water. Should post this on flat earther forums.

As I always say, Winnipeg and Montreal are in a league of their own, having their heritage downtown preserved in near mint condition juxtaposed to the modern towers of the post-WWII to today.
