Léger poll out today has the CAQ a bit lower, just under 40%, but still very dominant.

TVA debate will be watched by a lot of people this evening.

Leger breakdown was
CAQ 38
PLQ 18
QS 17
PCQ 15
PQ 11

The assumption is that Mainstreet ranks PCQ too high and QS too low, as is the case with them in other provinces. Mainstreet by comparison to Leger had QS six points lower and PCQ five points higher. Either that's a function of how they poll or Leger has caught a trend before Mainstreet's daily rolling poll can catch it.

Not too difficult really. You just have to operate on the assumption that the abbreviations are in French.

I’ll even throw in a couple free clues, P = “Party” and Q = “Quebec”

Same. I was wondering when we'd have a party in Québec called LHOOQ.

Would you rather vote for Coalition Avenir Cul, or for Cul Solidaire? (Or for “Toilet Paper”, P. Cul)

Honestly [heretical opinion here], I think if Québec ever became independent, they should abandon the name "Québec", with its rather ugly Q in all acronyms, and adopt the good old name of... "Canada", which is how it was originally called, lest we forget, and which sounds classier. [/heretical opinion]

based Quebec. leaves Canada and takes its name back.

What would Canada be named then? United Provinces of America?

Canada I suppose. There would be 2 Canadas, just as there are 2 Koreas, 2 Congos, and previously 2 Germanies, 2 Netherlands (in the 18th century)... There are also 3 Guineas, come to think of it.

alternatively Canada could take Quebec as its name.

Why would there need to be two Canadas, when one of the two has another name already?

It’s like saying that since I dislike the name “France” for some reason, the country should be called “Southwest Belgium” instead. Whether we like the name or not, the name is the name.

If an independent Quebec turns out to be the entity that gets to be called “Canada”, then the other entity can be named “Ontario” :p
