Is this place really called 'Parkdale Collective' now?

Man, the eastern flank of Parkdale is going to be a vertical wall soon once this, and the other properties close by are on their way above grade...

Excited about this one. Love the design of the tower, and with Richcraft, chances are pretty good that we get what was approved.

I think if built how designed, it might be the nicest condo building in Ottawa.

I'll never forget this classic from 2012 when this was first proposed at 28 stories. It perfectly encapsulates the ongoing Ottawa NIMBY mentality: They don't actually want compromise, they want developers to BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anyone).

Margo Gallant, who has lived in the community for 12 years, said she and residents raised over 70 different concerns about a recently approved 28-storey condominium at 99 Parkdale Avenue. She said they felt none of their comments were taken into consideration.

"I've been to several of these meetings in the past year and it seems like déjà vu," said Gallant.

She said despite recent failures, she's again trying to find compromise on the issue of height with developers.

"The only other alternative is a squat 14-storey building that's going to allow us no greenspace and no light," said Gallant. "I don't think that's the only alternative."

No, that was a prior proposal for the site of The Dale.

Looking forward to seeing this one rise. I also think the black and the different balcony sizes & designs should be cool.

It's like if SOHO Italia & SOBA had a love child. Hopefully the materials are good quality & the execution is there.

Should be a nice one, for sure. Only thing I'm iffy about is the "crown", or treatment to hide the mechanical penthouse. It might stick out like a sore thumb.

I noticed it poking out when going west from the O-train.
