Feels like a lot of projects in Ottawa-Gatineau have been progressing very slowly. The labour shortage is hitting hard.

It really seems to be an ebb and flow thing that varies from project to project. Royale for example seems like they installed a ton of glass quickly but hasn't done that much in the last month and a bit.

The Travelodge project on Carling is moving along quickly(superstructure wise) and that is two structures.

Is it also possible workers with seniority were taking holidays in the summer with everything opening up again? I've only ever worked privately so I can't speak much to the summer/winter workflow of highrise projects.

Last two weeks of July are typically construction worker holidays in Quebec, and I am sure this site has a lot of Quebec-based workers.

Not sure if that would affect things in an Ontario project by a Quebec developer..

This building has continued to grow on me. RLA at their best (though Soho Italia might be my choice for that soon). I'm pretty excited to see the second tower make it's mark over the winter.

Synergy is flying along on a bunch of their other projects so yeah it's a bit strange.

Synergy also has an insane monopoly on concrete super structures right now. I want to say a good half of ongoing projects.

Reminder of what the tower is supposed to look like. Looks like they are building wider balconies along the left side of the west elevation. Certainly not a bad thing.

Is no one else really disappointed that this tower is getting a twin?? I really like the look of the first tower on its own and feel the twin kind of cheapens the effect. I would much rather something different/unique next door.....maybe a charquewhite!

They are different enough that I still like it! if they were identical twins i would probably agree with you, but the height is different and the facade is different. one has a curved balcony the other is standard rectangular balcony.

Parkdale and Westboro are going to look a hell of a lot different once all those towers go up. Tunney's Pasture redevelopment is going to be huge in how this area is redesigned closer to Tunney's station.

I don't mind the look of these, they're much older projects compared to what we have in the pipeline.

Parkdale, as it stands today, isn't all that great... but it has a lot of potential. Developments one on side of the street overlooking a fast, underutilized government hub filled with surface parking and grass fields, and pretty far from good retail & grocery stores (nearest being the Metro on Richmond which is 1.7km from The Dale).

But its proximity to downtown, LRT nearby, river & parkways nearby, if the development of Tunney's across the street materializes (become a dense, vibrant, live/work/play hub, the value of living on Parkdale could vastly increase.
