Well, this is underwhelming. Especially when you compare it to other new Tech buildings.

The first image does not look like the same project as the others.

Did y’all see the Alexan proposal on Edgewood behind Amazza jwbab spotted?

Looks like great infill and more housing coming between the BeltLine and Downtown. This area is super hot and I imagine we’ll continue to see infill for years on end.

Active adult living is the new way of saying senior living so nothing has changed from what I can discern.

Correct. The term "senior housing" is very offensive to baby boomers so most developers are using "active adult."

I agree. This looks great! We don't see enough of projects designed for the context of the surroundings.

Lots going on in planning permits this week. In addition to quite a few SFHs and duplexes, a new coffeeshop on Georgia Ave in Grant Park, an array of renovations/additions, and a proposed updated on-street parking ordinance:

Planning permit filed for rezoning for 33 more townhomes at 1051 Moreland.

Planning permit filed for 142-unit apartment building in Kirkwood at 930 Mauldin. Rendering from July below, but this may not be accurate because one of the planning permits states "Rezoning to remove previous conditions from previous design to updated design which involves demolishing existing single story warehouse building to construct 6 story multi-family building."

Planning permit for 12 townhomes at 2535 Glenwood, just south of East Lake golf club.

Planning permit
for 9 houses at 2866 Memorial.

Planning permit filed for 4-story, 80 unit student housing at 481 Martin in Summerhill.

Planning permit for lot consolidation at 965 Howell Mill for a midrise residential building. When announced last year the proposal was 343 units.

Wait, isn't it the baby boomer generation who is going around calling everyone, especially Millennials, snowflakes?

I thought this was farther along. There are a couple renderings that have been circulating in marketing materials.

Really hoping 930 Mauldin’s design trmains the same. Loved their 6 story tiered design (which was also 142 units), the gathering space for the public and new access point to the BeltLine, and the retail along the BeltLine.

GSU plans demolition of Downtown parking deck

https://saportareport.com/georgia-state-...-parking-deck/sections/reports/johnruch/
Quote:
The approximately four-story deck dates to 1964, according to Fulton County property records.

Next door to the south is Deck A, another small-scale GSU parking structure dating to the 1960s, at the corner of Peachtree Center and Auburn Avenue. Next door to the north is Lot V, a surface parking lot behind GSU’s College of Law at Peachtree Center and John Wesley Dobbs Avenue.

Both decks and the lot are marked for redevelopment in a 2019 GSU master plan that was updated last year. The master plan calls for the deck sites to be replaced with “proposed joint venture [redevelopment] & ground-level retail,” and for Lot V to become an academic building.

Third & Urban planning Little Five Points mixed used project

https://atlanta.urbanize.city/post/littl...mmunity-bar-housing-dining-landmark-site
Quote:
Atlanta-based developers Third & Urban have partnered with a company of six local families operating under the name Point Center Partners to own and reimagine a 2.5-acre site where Moreland and Euclid avenues meet in Little Five Points.

Specific plans are still being formulated, but development heads say the overarching goal is to energize the corner with new and existing retail, eliminate its surface parking, preserve the largest building in the neighborhood, and promote the ability for people to live in L5P without a car.
