At some point, it is going to be sufficiently complete, that enough of the amenities will become usable. How long do you think it will be before we reach that stage? Hopefully, there will be enough patios to make it a destination for more than local residents. There certainly will be some great views both east and west from Zibi. It will be a terrible waste if it is designed only for locals.

It's definitely not just designed for locals. The park at the western tip of Chaudiere Island is already functional and is a very popular stop off the Ottawa River Pathway, with lots of seating and views, as is the overlook of the falls and the hydro station.

As it stands, we have attractions that bring people to the site, such as the zip line, the festival "plaza" (cirque, beer fest and other events) and the falls. We just don't have anything to keep people there after at this time.

Hope to see some good restaurants on both sides of the project in the near future to make this a place to visit obvious attractions and stick around afterwards.

Once a few restaurants and other small businesses establish at Zibi, we need to promote the heck out of it. I'm a little puzzled why we don't already promote the heck out of Chaudière Falls or why we don't bring back the 2017 sound and light show to the Falls every year.

Nope, there is no bedrock there.
The park seems kinda half-baked, at least in the renders.

I wonder what would it take to allow people to walk over the ring dam. Could be a really cool experience.

I dunno, you don't need a waiver to walk next to the empty Rideau Canal Locks in the winter. And there is not even a barrier there. Falling down could be just as deadly.

Would've been nice. Although I'm sure city bureaucrats and lawyers are shivering at the thought of it

Another thing I've been thinking about is filling this reservoir next to the viewing platform with water and making a public pool out of it.

That is an outstanding idea! I wonder how feasible it would be. Wouldn't be touching the bottom of that one.

Zibi right now. Block 207 is topped out, 206 is up to 5 floors, and the one on the Gatineau side is up to the 2nd floor. Things are going to start looking very different very soon!

Makes me think of how spectacular this view must have looked like before all the dams and hydroelectric generation plants were built .

Block 7 availability is advertised to be 11 months from now. Doesn't look it will be anywhere close. They haven't even started working on it.

I 100% agree with this. The Chaudiere Falls need to be highlighted as a destination within Ottawa and the light show should be a regular occurrence for the Falls. Someone from the NCC said it was very popular and considered Ottawa Niagara Falls. It should be invested into and brought back as a highlight of the area, people will come and enjoy the natural falls if there's platforms to do it.

Furthering that; Zibi is an island community and I hope they take that plus the Falls and use that to show that Ottawa can be seen as a waterfront city (considering how much actual natural water systems we have).

I've been doing a lot of reading by the falls this past weekend (going a couple times a day, skipping the high sun) and from my observations theres a pretty constant flow of people through the two parks at any time of day. I left at 8pm last night after dark and there were still some people around. Once there are restaurants and services there it will explode in busyness. I found myself only really leaving because I needed a drink or something to eat. The trees don't yet provide much shade but are quite healthy so with time the park is going to get even better.

Having a hard time picturing how any of it could work.

Looks like they are tiling it with bedrock slabs. Interesting.

This was posted before however, thought I'd place it here again as a reminder of what O2 currently u/c on the Gatineau side will look like. Courtesy of Julien on RailFans Discord.

Better than average, but not as good as the Ottawa side of Zibi.
