I mean changing the heights of the steps seems like a recipe for someone tripping and falling.

By me today.

Looks like the vines are creeping upwards (and downwards).

i would assume not. these didn't exist before, and i didn't see them run any irrigation lines based on the photos posted here. if only we had the ability to teleport water.

I like the broken window already. It's a right of passage, kind of like braking a bottle of champaign at a ship launch.

There's some vertical pipe in those planters for something. It seems like they created a T joint off of a possible water line? I don't know how they expect the trees to survive long term with such a shallow base for the roots.

you might be right there. probably that drip irrigation, which would make sense in this application. trees can survive in these containers, i have a japanese maple in a pot, and has done well for many years. but, the trees will only grow as big as their container allows. and, being above ground, they will dry out fast in the summer heat. i cant imagine the metal sides would help either; that would transfer so much heat to the soil if hit with direct sunlight.

It's like a greeting to Deloitte: "Welcome to Vancouver! You'll be getting more of this."

Here are a few pics by me from Tuesday night before that new concrete was poured.
PS - I doubt those planters have sprinklers in them.

I think they just look that way because of the green walls/which way the glass faces.

'Dark zones'. It does surprise me how many people close their blinds all day long and make their offices into caves. So there may be people who like these offices.

Miller Thomson (law firm) just reverted back to conventional offices. I wonder how long Deloitte will last. I hear tax season can be a strain on open concept accountants' offices when everyone is in the office.

A few days ago I saw some black tread strips that had been applied on that questionable bit of repoured concrete (at the top of the steps) and it was coming off at the ends.

Today I tried to get some pics of it but... it's gone. And the plants are gone, too.

Stay tuned for next weeks instalment of the "Deloitte Steps" saga.
