Crane number 2 is fully assembled.

This tower will be so prominent rising above Hobby.

Final Hobby Photo - 8/30/22

This is likely the last picture you'll see from Hobby at this vantage point facing West (unless the future demolition crew decides to take some).

Core rebar is now above ground (by about maybe 10 ft). On the top left corner of the pic (corner of 3rd and San Antonio St.) the rebar columns are about 20-30 feet above ground now. If you look closely you can see the pipes they're laying into the foundation to the left of the core, for what I can only assume is going to be plumbing. May be wrong, but only assuming.

The soil looks like a deep brown bc of the rain today, the workers mostly left by around 3pm because of it. They're usually on-site much longer.

3rd crane not up yet, but both of the constructed cranes are already working in tandem with each other. Other than that, I don't claim to know a ton about construction so signing off.

I'll greatly miss being able to watch this go up right in front of my eyes, and I'll live vicariously through 360 going forward for updates.

Is it me or does that crane on the left look a little crooked?

I think it is the window glass that the picture is being taken through that is making the crane look distorted.

It looks perfectly in line with that leaning building in the background!

Keystone effect
In photography, the term is used to describe the apparent leaning of buildings towards the vertical centerline of the photo when shooting upwards, a common effect in architectural photography.

Geez, we can’t even trust the accuracy of pictures anymore? What’s next, your gonna tell me we can’t believe everything we see on VHS tapes either?

I'm back. Miss me? Thanks to Austinite101, Urbannizer, and agsatx88 for the pics while I was gone. Here is mine from this afternoon.

Bottom left they are trenching from the temporary electric pad into 4th street.

Lots of form and rebar work in central core with a couple pours already complete. They also applied multiple layers of material to the main core slab. You can see the end black layer on the south side and they have started backfilling the area with gravel on the north side.

Form work at top right in pit that they had dug for mechanical space?

Started pouring rectangular columns above grade in SW corner (visible just peaking out of the cooling tower).

2nd crane looks straight from my angle

I like this angle. It gives us a clear look at what structure need to be razed and replaced with high-rises!

I remember when it was a big deal that AMLI #2 was going 'high-rise' rather than mid-rise.

With all of these angles, I expect one of you digital wizards to create a real-time 3D view of the progress. Thanks in advance.

Forms taken off eastern double elevator in central core. Now pouring the western double elevator section.

Mechanical pit in SE corner poured last Friday. Removing inner plywood wall forms.

More vertical column rebar placed
