Looks like it.

https://ottawarewind.com/2014/08/19/debunking-the-bunker-and-ottawas-nuclear-reactor/

I noticed the Remics bunker a few weeks ago and wondered what it was for. Turns out it's a pumping station bring water to Tunney's as part of the cooling system. It was built around the same time as the nuclear reactor, so some speculate a direct link.

Is this related to heating plant, like an auxiliary building for Tunney's?

It's connected into the same district heating system as the Cliff plant, if you go back into the pages on this thread you can see the plans of the pipes that connect the two.

Yup. In addition to the Printing Bureau Plant in Hull and Confederation Heights (only one not getting re-built).

The frame for the first stack is just to the left of the crane. Super premo-fully galvanized frame.

The second stack looks like it'll go just to the right of the crane, based on the holes in the slab there.

The large brick stack has been gone for a while. Here's a pic from March 2021 from Harley.

EDIT - looking at Google Streetview from Portage, it was removed sometime between June 2016 and June 2018.

Okay, thank you, Gents.

It was always a defining feature of my commute to Portage, 1987-2015. Especially on the coldest days of winter. When it would smoke (vapour) away.

Can’t believe that nobody put up a heritage tussle about it.

The new design is replacing it with a tall chromed tower (maybe it's supposed to be a smokestack?)
