Thanks for posting, and welcome to the channel
Thanks for the Welcome.

I don't think it needs to be demolished. Def some re/re and the pigeon problem certainly will create some hazardous materials situations that will need to be rectified but overall the building is in pretty solid shape. The services for the remaining 6 buildings are all in the site as well.

Be interesting to see what materializes on the site.

That Streetview image is from June 2022 (but you said that). I checked the date after I noticed the traffic lights that were installed last year were visible when I panned. I like looking around the city after a streetview update.

Ahh, I just checked the Google Streetview and realized that it is not as bad as I thought. I haven't been by the site in a couple of years.

Does anyone know what they’re starting to work on in Harbour Landing in front of the ugly hotel on Parliament Ave?

Thought it might be related to this, but it looks like this development ends at Co-op.

It's really nice to see some refreshening on that section of Victoria Ave. This building, along with the recently built MWV clinic, will help add some modern flair to an old, generally underused part of the city. There are still some rundown, vacant homes that will hopefully be redeveloped in the not-so-distant future.

Also Fresh Air Experience and Life is Good Korean Restaurant have been extensively upgraded in recent years. I believe the run-down houses and empty lot to east of Fresh Air are for sale, so there is potential for development.

New TV series set to start production at John Hopkins Regina Soundstage

https://www.620ckrm.com/2022/08/19/301317/
The action thriller series will be shot entirely in Saskatchewan starting in September, with an estimated spend of over $20,000,000 on local labour, goods, and services. The series, based on the upcoming feature film of the same name to be released in 2023, tells the story of a group of international assassins contracted to take out the most dangerous killer in the world.
Not construction related but extremely good days

Looking towards Broad Street from the Mosaic Tower roof, one of the catalyst projects definitely needs to be built there. It’s embarassing.

Isn't the rumour that the new stupid downtown project is going to involve taking down a building that there will be opposition to? Not sure what that means. Not a clue as to location, but you can't tell me that an arena downtown isn't going to require parking in out carcentric city?

I'd like to see the crappy old smoke shop and empty LB store on Broad Street taken down and that would give a good stretch with the old Travellers building site to do some real development on Broad St.

Build the arena on a small lot, but standing on its side. Then spin it real fast so people can skate and sit horizontally.

Hopefully they build the arena with an open roof to save money.

Better idea: build a hockey arena upside-down on top of Mosaic Stadium. In the summer you play football, and in the winter you turn the building upside down and play hockey. And you have a roof for both seasons.

This is the kind of forward-thinking that Regina needs.

To be fair, several substantial buildings have been obliterated on that map because the have parking structures above or below them. For example the former Sears, Avord Tower, Grenfell Tower, Chateau Tower, North Canadian Oils, Palliser Place...

Does anyone know what’s going on in general with the higher density development in Greens on Gardiner? I commented on Glasshouse, but there is the site across the street with one small rental building for sale forever. Plans for more buildings? Looks like it started at the same time as Glasshouse?

There is another empty lot across the street as well?

Just trying to get an idea what’s going in/happening is this intersection cursed? Haha

I remember seeing signage on that lot a while back saying "Court Ordered Sale" so it seems more like a compliance move than anything? It's ugly as sin and just sitting like a lonely iceberg in a sea of dirt, weeds, and jack-rabbits.

On another topic, does anyone know what's happening to the old Dutch Growers lot? It had a SOLD sign on it for a while and now it's For Lease. I know there was that plan for Bloom or whatever it was called but what an eyesore it is just sitting in disrepair.
