Ottawa is rapidly forming an inverted skyline, where taller buildings surround the tabletop CBD skyline like the walls of a bowl. It's an interesting side effect of the limited heights in most of the CBD/Byward Market due to protected view planes of Parliament!

Goodness, beautiful images of Montreal! The varied and layered skyline always blows me away. It really looks great in black and white imagery.

Edmonton's looking good too, it's natural scenery nearby is such a great asset.

I'm really blown away by how big Kitchener/Waterloo looks in the image above, holy cow. It's an interesting urban area to me. There's good bones to work with there, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves in the next 30 years.

Belmont Village is what passes for quaint in K-W. A highway running through low-slung surbuban commercial buildings without second or third-floor apartments, with big setbacks and parking lots everywhere. There are no Victorian shopfronts at all.

It really is remarkable how bland it is. It gets talked up by locals as a destination neighbourhood with nifty restaurants and shops, which is sad. And K-W people have no idea, they think everywhere in Ontario outside of Toronto is basically the same. I've lost count of how many people I've met from there who've expressed astonishment at how urban and funky Hamilton is, for example. Because nobody along the 401 ever goes to Hamilton, what with all roads leading to Toronto and all.
