- it's located on an ugly corner
- on an ugly street
- in an ugly neighbourhood

To be fair Alberta can claim both of them; we have enough loonies in Ontario. After all, Ted Cruz was born in Calgary but he's America's problem now.

^^ Cul-de-sacs are so much wasted space, asphalt is not a friend of the planet, and we should not be subjected to it as an urban centerpiece.

They let this get built in the middle of Vancouver, at the top of a hill to boot, where it looks really unpretty.
Climate controlled you say, how about some design control? Scale? Who cares?
You may store your belongings & memories here, but they will surely die here unloved too.
Maybe a few band-aid murals could help?

Holy hell, what is the deal with those cul-de-sacs? You know they're big when people are parking in the middle of the damn thing. Are those just a few odd-ball examples or they're prevalent like that in Ottawa?

Ugly because of the weeds. Though, TBH, because it's not weeds here and there on a lawn, it's not all that bad. It's like a super sized weed garden. Actually, a weed forest. Two years ago, this lot one block over from the cottage was cleared. There's a proposal sign for a new house or cottage. Lot has not been touched since as you can see. The lot went from entirely trees to entirely weeds. I would love to fly a crop duster over this with Roundup in it and watch the weeds die over several days. Shit, I'd even do it by hand. Even when I spray a single dandelion at home I check the progress daily to see that bastard wither away.

Wouldn't call this house in Barrie ugly, but it's very bold. Maybe he took inspiration from my favourite hotel chain, Red Roof Inn. Doesn't exactly fit in with the neighbourhood.

^ They also removed the mullions from the windows (generally a good thing), but by adding the red roof tiles they now have a "spanglish" style house.

That is terrible. Great for street hockey though.

Trees obviously weren't quite as tall, but many residents planted trees in the middle. I know we did on ours.
