100% - I agree. One of the nicest buildings built in recent times.

Sad, ironic, that it took a developer from Cornwall to come to the big city to show us how it's done...

That's a quirky roofing detail right there. I wonder why they did that? Maybe it looks cool when staring up at it?

Hadn't noticed, but now that you mention it, that does look better than a straight parapet.

I hate to be that guy.... BUT

The level of proficiency on the brick work of this building is complete and utter dogshit.

A couple weeks ago I noticed that all the spots where the swing stage was attached to the building the backfill was easily noticeable from across the street. I went back yesterday on my walk and took a closer look. Sloppy work all around to say the least. I'm not impressed. The brick across the street at Charlotte looked rough too but they seemed to do a decent job of cleaning it up on my later visit.

How much are these union brickies making??? I want a piece of that action.

The building as a whole looks amazing. No doubt there.

Its all a conspiracy to keep the building restoration industry booming. Build things sh*t, sell to unsuspecting condo owners, and then cycle back to repair sh*t. Get paid twice, everyone's a wienner.

Most of that brick slop would go away or become virtually unnoticeable with an acid wash. Will they do it? Probably not.

I'm well aware. Perhaps not some of the chunkier stuff but some muriatic acid and a wirebrush would certainly help. I've done some repointing and chimney repairs and I would probably have a hell of a time collecting if my work looked like that. I am by no means a mason either.

A beautiful building regardless.

I don't want to be that guy again... but I'm gonna be that guy again.

This is on the south east corner facing Rideau and Coburg. Clearly mortar slop from the brickwork. I only noticed it when I sat down to stare at the Charlotte the other day. Bit of an old pic but I'll go ahead and say it's there.

How could you not have a slop bucket and a sponge? Or even if you didn't in that moment, just leave it for possibly a full calendar year and mark the building as complete. We need higher standards of workmanship. There is literally mortar on someones window, and not just a speck or two of it either.

I will have faith and assume there is still a deficiency list to be worked through but it will be no small challenge to get up there for such a simple thing.

I'm fussy, I know.
