Thrive has been working with Planning staff to develop a conceptual master plan for this large
(21 hectare) parcel, which will be a mixed-use community of high density, townhouses, and
single unit dwellings
.

The development timeline will likely coincide with the second phase of
Bridgedale Boulevard. In the short term, the property owner is considering the construction of a
private residence at the southern portion of the property.

I drove by the Kensington Apartments tonight for the first time in a while. There seems to be a lot of the units now occupied as you can see furniture on the balconies and several vehicles in the parking lot. It was a long time coming.

The Town of Riverview has put out a notice that a portion of Suffolk Street will be closed tomorrow & Friday to accommodate installation of services for a new construction. Several months ago there was a 4 floor 40 unit building approved for the lot. More happy customers for the new Wal Mart!

So it appears that Cannabis NB will be opening a pop-up store in the Chocolate River Station. How do you think they'll do? Is Riverview a good market for them?

Two items of note in the upcoming August 10th PAC meeting:

1) - Yero Diallo, Diallo Developments Ltd., Trites Road (PID 00994335), conditional use application to permit a 12-unit multi-unit dwelling in an R3 zone (File 22-1487).

2) - Kaitlyn Lacelle, Thrive Properties, Bridgedale Blvd (PID 05049960), application to amend the Urban Growth Boundary on the Future land Use, Future Roads, and Zoning maps (File 22-1095).

Item 2 refers to riverviewer's post above. At present, supportive documents are not available, and likely won't be posted until about one week before the meeting. It will be interesting if these documents reveal anything more on Thrive's intentions..........

Item 1 was submitted last year for a 6 unit building. They've doubled the number of units!

Does anybody know if thrive owns more land than shown on the map above? Because the urban growth boundary already extends to the southern end of the highlighted property. This is also the edge of the town boundary. I’m interested to see what their plans are. I also wonder if we will learn more about the town’s intentions to reroute route 114 onto Bridgedale Blvd.

Does anybody know what they're doing on the mud flats just east of the causeway bridge? I saw some heavy equipment there including a cement truck!(on the north side of the river)

Still working on correcting the flooding risk at the causeway traffic circle. They're improving the drainage.

OK thanks. That makes sense. That area under the tracks has been flooding for years.

According to Huddle, the Cannabis NB store at the Chocolate River Station is now open.

It is described as a "pop-up" store but from the Huddle article, it would probably be better described as a "temporary" location for a new permanent Riverview store. It sounds like they will stay at the Chocolate River Station location until Thrive decides to build the twin tower "The Current" apartment complex.

I seem to get the impression (not necessarily from the article, just the vibe I get and hearsay that I’ve heard) that they could be interested in having Cannabis NB be one of the tenants in the new development once it’s done.

I don't think Thrive Properties will have any trouble filling up the ground floor commercial space once The Current is ready for leasing. The Holy Whale would likely be willing to keep their spot, as they seem to be doing a pretty good business there.

There is already a restaurant who is very interested in a ground floor space at the current. If this comes to fruition it will be a very busy spot in this building

5 Bridges would be a pretty good fit in a space like that I think. But some new blood would be a welcome addition as well.

It isn't Five Bridges. I do know the restaurant that MaritimerJAB is referring to. If everything pans out, this will be a wonderful addition to downtown Riverview. Many things could still happen however, and, in particular, we don't even know when construction on The Current will begin. It could be 3-5 years before the building is ready for the restaurant to move into, and it would be unfair at this early point to name names and get people's expectations up. It would also be eminently unfair to the restaurateur as well.

Something tells me that it will be a while before we see Thrive Properties start construction of The Current. They are currently working on two buildings in Riverview, as well as the Twin Oaks development in Moncton. And I'm not sure how it impacts their ability to start a new project in N.B., but they're also constructing buildings in Halifax & Charlottetown. They're busy!
