Pacific Grove, CA

Went up to Pacific Grove for the Memorial Day weekend 2021 for a slow relaxed pace, nice cool weather, Victorian architecture, good seafood, and beautiful landscapes---and took some pictures.

Back in 1999, for his 29th birthday, my partner and I stayed at this place, which was a B&B that used to be a convent for Catholic nuns. It doesn't appear to be a B&B anymore. But I remember the staff being very nice, and the place was really charming, and they offered breakfast, and in the evening they had dessert and port.

Lunch.

Bring on the grape juice. I had a prosecco, my partner had a riesling.

My partner had a barramundi.

I had wild rock cod over crab ravioli.

We both had crème brûlée for dessert.

And we both had Licor 43 to go with dessert.

Such a beautiful area. I visited back in July 2014. Haven't been there since, but will likely head back down there at some point this summer or fall.

Nice, that entire region, Carmel, Monterey and Pacific Grove is one of my favorite spots to visit and relax in California. In fact my wife and I are planning a mini vacation in August to the area.

It's also one of my favorite spots in California. Pacific Grove is particularly our favorite because it's the least touristy of the three towns you mentioned, and has a lot of natural beauty.

I went to a conference at Asilomar a while ago. The coast there is gorgeous.

I love living in California. So much beauty all over the state. This is one beautiful town and you captured it well. Excellent photos.

Yes it is. On this trip we also went to Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, which is south of Carmel. We hiked there and it is breathtakingly gorgeous.

The central coast is wonderful. I feel like there's a soothing quality to it... I get relaxed just looking at your photos.

Nice pictures! In addition to the town, one thing that stood out to me were the license plates. Those yellow-on-black plates (first picture) always look like Delaware plates at first glance. Then the plate with the coastline (fifth picture) makes the regular California plate look even better!

Beautiful photos, sopas! Being right between Monterey and Carmel, a lot of folks miss out on PG. But it’s a great little town as your tour shows. And Point Lobos is gorgeous too. A great hike and breathtaking shoreline from one end to the other.
