So, back to the heading & topic for this thread.....
Are we going to ignore, remain silent that in only 5 days 7 people were attacked. stabbed robbed??? For example, Tuesday @ 7:30 pm, several hours before sundown, a dad & daughter...violently beaten.Traumatised for life possibly.
I know many middle age family, coworkers & friends of mine can not bike there ( as is encouraged) so they need to park, which in discouraged & not going there anymore.
Now, with the fact the chances of getting injured there are almost that of Main & Higgins..I know some of these peeps are not going to live there & they did consider it.Many of the cyclists are also at risk and not all have the means to afford the cost of what it will be to live there.
Is this going to dampen the drive to encourage people to live there? People will be walking around, coming going to work, events downtown at all times (theatre, dining, clubbing, symphony, ballet etc ).
Security will have to be increased in a major way.
I am an urban dweller & think like one but this latest crime wave there is driving home the reason people who can afford to choose to live in St Norbert, Crestview, River Park South, Sage Creek, Whyte Ridge etc...
