Here’s the cold hard truth the problem is an order magnitude worse here because we’ve been treating Indigenous people as second class citizens of Canada since at least 1867. Winnipeg has by far the largest Indigenous population in the country so the effects of this prejudice and discrimination are amplified here like no other place in Canada.
Regina has similar problems, and Edmonton is in just as bad of a predicament as we are. Either way the underlying issues to solve such a complex issue requires a collaboration from all 3 levels of government. However, the municipality must be the leader which is why it’s crucial this election is won by someone who is able to bring these different levels of government together like Murray was able too in the past.
