BS. Edmonton religiously voted conservative during the Lougheed and Klein years and we still got shafted. It’s a two way street and the UCP don’t even pretend to try.

council is not making friends???

from cancelling the superlab to invoking the powers of the police act and everything in between, this provincial government has been anything but friendly to edmonton long before this council took office.

the hand that feeds it my @$$. on pretty much anything from housing to social services to justice to fifa it's more like the hand that starves it.

100% - the UCP know they'll never get elected here (and their one seat, Kaycee Madu, is anything but safe) and they have obviously been doing nothing for us here to make the case to vote for them.

Why should anyone make friends with the grifters? They are out to line their pockets, reduce our health care to pay per use, and education system to Southern US style of public education, and taking our tax dollars to provide benefits to their corporate buddies while selling out our foothills and rocky mountains for coal and fucking with our drinking water.

Hearing this from more than a few folks on the inside.

The City-Province relationship is absolutely vital and at the moment we are not playing well in the sandbox. That relationship should not be a political ideology one (which is happening disproportionately right now by Council), but rather a transactional and functional one.

But yes, it does take two to tango.

my guess is that picking anyone off this list - or any other - is impossible without knowing what holland and woodcroft have in mind for skinner. my guess is they both still have confidence in him so that likely means the "other goalie" is going to be someone older or someone with a shorter contract who could manage 40 - 50 games this year but wouldn't be an overspend if that count dropped to 30 - 40 as skinner takes over.

Georgiev would be an ideal goaltender pickup - youngish and could play as a starter immediately.

Georgiev would be rather expensive, no? I'm leaning more towards Jack Campbell.

The main priority for the Oilers is re-signing Evander Kane and getting rid of the dead wood.

I think most likely is signing Jack Campbell or Ville Husso, not sure they'll be able to trade for a goaltender

Rumor I have heard is that EK has removed all association with the Oilers from his social media, so if that's true, not looking like he'll be back

Re-signing Kane would be ok with me as long as the money and term isn't crazy. Since he's 30 now, I wouldn't want to go more than 5 years at max 6 million per.
