What project is being built in the foreground? The base looks somewhat substantial.

Wawanesa Insurance HQ (which is making good progress) and Sutton Place hotel, which has been delayed for years but is expected to be finished by 2025

That Wawanesa Winnipeg office looks great! Very nice addition to the CBD there, and for a hometown company.

What makes Vancouver special is that this is an urban skyline image. If I had turned not even 45 degrees to the right you'd see West Vancouver and downtown. Unfortunately too many SSPers have lost sight (literally) of what makes the city so unique.

I dunno, really? Everyone knows that the natural setting is really nice with the mountains. Seems like some here (yeah, I know, me in particular) don't find the city itself all that interesting or appealing, but certainly understand the attraction of being close by to skiing and mountain biking.

That's not even a skyline photo and should not even be on this thread. No wonder Canadians and visitors alike find the urban proper of Vancouver so boring: there are just way too many unreasonable confines to the growth of the built-up areas due to the unrealistic preservations of a few arbitrary view points near the city centre.

The saddest thing is that even with the tallest building in Canada built in downtown Vancouver, this view will still be available from that vantage point where this shot was taken.

I don't see an urban skyline. Are you saying this is the view from an urban skyline?

I love seeing shipping but I'm more into river cities; cruising up or down an urban river/canal stopping every now and then for a pint. Anyways, Is the sea to sky aspect of Vancouver's setting really that unique?

Vin's — of a future Vancouver skyline, though there probably isn't enough lung-searing smog.

Not true at all, but let's see Whatnext's — for the future of Vancouver's skyline:

He loves those "specials". What a hypocrite as living in one of those, he can't even see the mountains and the water unless he demolishes all the trees and Vancouver Specials in his little quaint neighbourhood.
