Things are finally beginning to move quickly on the new Harley Davidson dealership on West Main Street.

They have done a complete facadectomy on the front of the building, and the pavement is completely torn up. I know they have been working on the inside of the building for some time. I anticipate the building might be ready by the fall........

Ashford Living building on the NE corner of Highfield & Campbell, directly across from the Hilton Garden Inn:



Already up to four storeys (out of six). The preformed concrete construction is allowing this project to proceed very quickly.

Aalis Restaurant is destined for the second floor of Dolma Foods on St. George Street.

A Maritime seafood focused restaurant with a rooftop patio. Nestled in downtown over looking the city with fine food and a casual atmosphere. Designed and produced by BLACK RABBIT Creative Group.

A nice addition to the neighbourhood.

New rendering for one of the two proposed six storey buildings in Ashford Living's proposed Lorentz Apartments.



This project came up again before Moncton city council last night because of a few proposed minor changes. The new proposal is for 232 apartment units and 6,480 sq ft of ground level commercial space. There will be a public hearing on July 28th.

I imagine the footprint will be the same (or very similar) as the original proposal.



There should be additional new documentation to review before the public meeting. I will keep my eyes open for this.

Galway Atlantic Investments has revealed plans for a nice looking six storey mixed use residential building on the SW corner of Queen Street and Robinson downtown, to be called The Robinson Residences.

Information is in the Moncton PAC meeting documents for June.

I will post more on this when I get home from work this evening.

Definitely a sweet proposal! But… wouldn’t this be too close to the rail line for residential based on the new regulations?

The building fronts on Robinson, and there is a street between the rear property line and the adjacent railway track. I imagine it falls just outside the exclusion zone.

I wonder what this development could mean for the Subway Block and for the Flatiron Building on Main Street? They are very close to this development proposal. We know that the Flatiron recently sold to a new owner eager to redevelop. I imagine a classy development like this, almost next door will suddenly boost the value of these two properties, and possibly make them more attractive to redevelopment.

When they planned to reopen Seymour Street I figured that Galco was going to develop this parking lot, especially since the time limit from the Castle Manor lawn transaction was up. I think this will be a great addition to the downtown, and just the type of development the city is looking for. Another surface parking lot eliminated is nice to see.

I like the new site plan a lot more. The previous plan seemed much more claustrophobic. This seems much more open, and would appear to give tenants a lot more privacy.

Another Spitfire design, but I like this one a lot. It has character and some elegance, and will definitely be a credit to the central part of the downtown core, bringing much needed density and new tenants to the neighbourhood which should greatly improve the street life of the area. The main floor commercial/retail frontage will be a great addition.

I think there is a a contract signed between Galco and the City about having to develop this land. Obviously we have witnessed that before with the Harper street project, but the difference is the developer for Harper street was relying on either a hotel/ the government to rent or be party of the development, which never happened. I have some faith this will work out.

Yes the agreement between Galco and the city strengthens this deal. They either develop the property or the city can purchase the land at fair market value. I would think that Galco would rather have an income producing asset. It's a great project for downtown Moncton.

Oh no, they are doing that off-set window thing.

The alternating green lines remind me of the random placement of windows on the Fox Creek apartments.

It’s probably more architectural and esthetic and stops the monotony of the building.

It's pretty much the opposite of aesthetic- it looks sloppy. I don't get this trend at all. It looks like they made a mistake drafting.

I agree, that trend is ugly, just stop it already. Looks sloppy and bizarre, it's a trend that won't age well.

It may work in certain situations and on some buildings, but it's very limited to a select few.

It might work better. These are just off-centre.

The final product might not be exactly as the render depicts. (hopefully) I also don't like the look of the offset window placement.
