When Sundial was officially announced on May 31, 2021 they stated they expected a year of planning then two years of construction. It has been exactly a year so if we don't start seeing permits soon then it's probably a bad sign, but then again Hines is strong so it may just be a slight delay.

Hopefully that means some revisions and improvements to the design. I love the oblique lines but the width of the building is egregious and the parking podium is hideous.

City needs more residential anyway, 95 state isn’t even fully leased yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sundial switched to residential, but on a subreddit thread about the outlook for commercial downtown, a local commercial realtor, u/RealtorRebekah said:

How's 95 State doing? I thought someone said that a lot or some of the company's bailed on their leasing deals.

Who was the one that said their company bailed on leasing in 95 State because a lot of their employees quit? Was it because these employees didn't want to work in an office downtown, because their current office was located down in Draper/Lehi?

I thought it was a law firm and it was mainly because a big national firm moved into SLC and poached a bunch of attorneys from other firms and the firm that was going to move in didn't need as much space anymore because they had fewer attorneys

They're filming scenes for The Last of Us movie of the Salt Lake level in Calgary, so, it'll be pretty cool to see Salt Lake with an actual cool skyline.

Not to be nitpicky or anything, just wanted to point out it's actually supposed to be a multi season show on HBO, but regardless, I'm very excited for it. I'm a huge fan of the game and it's cool to see SLC get some rep in a popular game with an upcoming, very hyped tv adaptation that will have an even bigger audience. I've seen loads of set leaks, and I'm surprised at how closely some portions of Calgary resemble SLC in regards to architecture and building massing.

Goldman Sachs is creating a huge new development in Dallas. It's disappointing that they just didn't expand in Salt Lake City.

Not that anyone will miss it...but...it looks like it is in the process of being demolished...

As far as I know it is not being demolished but getting a new facade. Also an interior remodel.

I hate when people post renderings of developments in other cities because as I'm scrolling, there's a moment where I actually think it's something proposed for Salt Lake and I get super excited ... just to see it's actually another city.

It looks like more than a remodel. There was a big gash ripped open in the southwest corner of the building.
So unless they are stripping it down to the skeleton...?

Yes, it's too bad Salt Lake City will probably never see a cool development like the Dallas Development for Goldman sachs .we-re just not in the same league as a city like dallas, unfortunately.

I know a specific law firm had leased 3 floors but after a different firm took 60% of their work force in a matter of 3 weeks they no longer had the numbers to lease 3 floors and are staying in their old building. Shitty
