Who knows.. maybe they may grace us with their presence.

I'll be there at 7.
Thanks for the kind words, but I was out of town. Regrettably, not checking out skeets, micro movements in temperature changes or the declining retail world of artisinal olive oil and cupcake emporiums.

Was a good time had by all and did Harls manage to meet up with the rest of the group.

He was able to join us. Harley had to go get him at the bar.

Yes. It was weird the bartender didn't tell me my party arrived. I guess he was looking for a tip or something.

For anyone who didn't attend, my shirt I had made for the event was 'I (heart) Charcoal & White Brick'

Sorry all, I'm glad to see you all had a good time.

I was hoping to come but have had some complications lately and just checked out of the hospital today. Hopefully, I'll see you all next time. Harley's shirt with I love Charcoal and White Brick is hilarious haha.

Well, let's plan the next one. Originalmuffins must confirm, you can't lollygag on the ssp meet forum without thinking about it.

I would suggest BDT.

I would also suggest the appearance of the following (that will never come) :

McDonald's Raccon
Proof Sheet
Kitchissippi
Mille Sabords (ok, I met him.. he might do it)
Rocketphish

..and any of you other lurkers out there. Geez I don't bite. Ask Norman, his mom vouches for me.

Where’s everyone during Canada Day weekend?

Aw thanks.
So nothing at Parliament this time? Also what’s a good place to park around Lebreton Flat?

In spite of how wide open it looks on Google Maps or Google Earth, LeBreton Flats isn't always the easiest place to park. (The built-up area to the south of Albert St. is not that easy to park in either.)

And if the main Canada Day events are happening there, it won't make things any easier.

I think one's best bet might be parking in either the Ottawa CBD to the east (vicinity of Albert or Slater streets, east of Bronson) or even in Vieux-Hull across the bridge where there is street parking in the area of Wellington and Eddy.

In both cases since it is a holiday on-street parking will probably be free all day.

Note that there is much talk of renewed "freedom"-style protests on Canada Day in the CBD, so this may affect access to streets there.

Thanks for the information. Lol I wonder if a gathering in Hull will be easier in that case.

During the freedom protests and the 2019 Canada Day Vieux Hull was absolutely full, with all street parking taken up by people heading on foot to Parliament Hill. I'd recommend parking somewhere along the Otrain and riding it to Pimisi. Especially this year that the Canada Day events are closer to Hull.

You could also park somewhere along the Rapibus in Gatineau and ride the bus to Terrasses to walk across Chaudière, but that's less direct.

I would recommend parking outside downtown and take the train. It will be free that day.

Thanks, I’ll look into that option.
Are most people here planning to go there, though?

The possibility of "Freedom" protests is turning me off. Otherwise, I might.
