They could've done a West Pender Place and made the blank wall a feature simply through adding texture (maybe ivy will grow on it or something), rather than pretend it's not there

I think it's about irony in architecture, it's so obviously fake that it's art.

They might as well add the spandrel to the entire blank wall. That corner treatment is so ridiculous.

Reminds me of Toronto's spandrel-fever.
